Excellent tool.
This adapter accompanies my Surface everywhere I go, and has just the right ports to ensure peace of mind for situations where the standard integrated usb-c ports might otherwise be insufficient. It fits perfectly and compliments the Surface’s design with a sleek aluminum construction that feels high quality. SD cards insert and pop out smoothly. My only caution is this: if you don’t want to deal with generic cable versions dangling awkwardly from the ports, the trade off is that the rigid unibody this has provides a lot more surface area and leverage against the ports if the Surface were to be bumped or dropped with it installed. To avoid possible damage, always be conscious of this while handling it and never leave the adapter plugged in around potential bump/drop hazards any longer than necessary. This goes for anything one plugs into laptop ports, but especially so for this form factor.

It was a Powerful Solution and Sleek Expansion for my Surface Pro 9...
This plug in was a versatile docking solution for my Surface Pro 9, I came across the Satechi Dual USB-C Hub that was designed for the Surface Pro 9 but I also see some users mentioning it works for the Surface 8 as well. Doing the unboxing revealed a sleek hub with a platinum shade matching my Surface 9, creating an aesthetically pleasing ensemble. The dual USB spacing aligned perfectly, but a design quirk made it somewhat incompatible for people trying to use it on the Surface Pro 8, which was pressing on the power button when fully inserted. Its capabilities, Satechi hub showcased 6 powerful ports, including USB4 pass-through, USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.0, and SD/microSD card slots. The USB4 pass-through port stood out to me with a 100W power delivery, 6K video output, and 40Gbps transfer speeds, ensuring a supercharged experience. The dual 4K video capability through HDMI and USB4 enhanced my multimedia setup, while the high-speed data transfers up to 40Gbps added efficiency. Despite some tightness in the USB-A port, the hub accommodated multiple peripherals simultaneously, from SSDs to monitors, making it a reliable travel companion for me. This Satechi hub, was tailored for the Surface Pro 9, and became my preferred docking solution. Its exclusive design, robust construction, and 100W power delivery checked all the boxes for my Surface needs while on the go. The secure fit on the Surface Pro 9, along with the convenience of a variety of ports, positioned it as an excellent travel companion. Although not without minor quirks, such as the USB-A port tightness and the HDMI cable strain, the hub's overall performance and design make it a worthy addition to the Surface Pro accessory lineup at an affordable price.

Not made for Surface Pro 8
I made a conscious decision to order this for my Surface Pro 8.. Yes 8! The dual USB spacing on the Pro 9 and Pro 8 are exactly the same so I ordered it. It comes in a nice looking box that will remind you of Official Microsoft Surface products. Inside is a brown cardboard placeholder for the device, and a small product guide. I opened up the box and got the hub out and put it into the dual USB C ports on my Surface Pro 8 and it fit really well. So, why is this hub not for the Pro 8, right? Well, the power button is placed right next to the USB C ports so the hub sort of presses down on it if you have it fully inserted. It does, however, work! If you can avoid pressing the hub in all the way, you can avoid hitting the power button and use this hub with the Pro 8. Ideally, this hub is not a good idea for a Surface Pro 8 and it was never intended to be so I gave it 5 stars as it does everything it says it can. I had 1 USB SSD, 1 USB C SSD, 1 MicroSD Card, a USB C phone charger, and an HDMI Dell Monitor, all plugged in at the same time and it did work great.

Excellent build quality, 2nd USB-C port, but only 1x USB A port
The Satechi hub costs more than some of the off-brand hubs with similar features, but unlike most of the cheaper ones, it does include a second USB-C port so you can charge the laptop while still being able to use USB-C data. One drawback with this hub is that it only has a single USB A port. I think they should have elongated it and included an extra port. Is this worth ~30-50% more than the alternatives? It really depends on what devices you're plugging in. If you don't need 2x USB A ports, then it is fine and one of the better-quality brands.

Excellent little hub/docking station
This is a great little unit. Fits perfect on the Surface and gives me a ton of ports without having to have a detached separate device. Transfer speeds are excellent and you don't need to power it separately since it has pass through. Only drawback is that it's all held onto the Surface with only the two USB-C ports so not sure if it's too much strain or not. This is especially concerning when I attach a heavy gauge HDMI cable which seems to put alot of weight on the hub. I switched it out to a much thinner and lighter cable and it feels much better. Would be nice if the HDMI connection was at the end of the unit making that connection face straight down instead of dangling precariously out the side but not going to complain too much. It works and works well so full 5 stars.

Fits securely.
I like playing music from a tablet with a pedal for page turns. I have my entire music library on a micro SD card rather than the volumes I used to carry around. I was thrilled with my Surface Pro 4 that includes a micro SD slot but I wanted an upgrade and liked the removable and up-gradable hard drive of the Pro 9. Unfortunately, Microsoft decided to remove the micro slot from my new Surface Pro 9. This Satechi Dual USB-C hub fits perfectly, looks great and includes slots for several more pieces of equipment. It connects easily just be certain to press all the way in till the light is lit and you know you’re connected. It’s a great addition to my tablet.

The world of tech is ever-evolving, and with the new Microsoft Surface Pro 9 in hand, ensuring you have the right accessories is essential. Enter the Dual USB-C hub/dock, a potential game-changer for all Surface Pro enthusiasts. Here’s my take on it. Pros: High-Definition Hero: The USB4 pass-through is the star feature, supporting vivid visuals at a whopping 40Gbps at 6K@60Hz. Whether it's design work or just high-definition viewing, this hub is set to impress. Versatile Ports Galore: With 2 USB-C ports and a USB-A port that supports up to USB 3.2, you're covered from current-gen tech to older devices. The HDMI port offers yet another HD avenue, boasting 4K @ 60Hz support. Photographers, Rejoice! The integrated MicroSD/SD card reader ensures that transferring photos or videos is hassle-free and swift. Rapid Charge: The USB4 passthrough ensures your Surface Pro 9 doesn’t run out of juice, provided you're armed with a 100W (or more) USB-C power adapter. Travel-friendly Titan: With its slim, compact design and a premium feel thanks to the brushed aluminum, this hub is an on-the-go person's dream come true. Dual Display Potential: Though I couldn’t test this personally, the hub promises the ability to run a dual display from the Surface Pro 9. An exciting proposition for multi-taskers and professionals alike! Cons: While the promise of a dual display sounds fantastic, not being able to test it out leaves a slight shadow of uncertainty. For a product of this caliber, firsthand experience with all its features is a must. Final Thoughts: This Dual USB-C hub/dock for the Surface Pro 9 is an amalgamation of style, versatility, and performance. For professionals or casual users alike, it brings a bouquet of features to the table. A few hands-on tests short of perfect, but definitely a strong contender for those looking to maximize their Surface Pro 9 experience!
