Delicious
Couldn’t be easier to serve and it’s absolutely delicious. Even my kid likes their fish.

Appel Herring Fillets
It's really good, but not worth the price.

Not what expected
Just not for my taste. I was excited to try. No taste. Texture was really strange. Not for me.

Are you adventurous?
I love pickled herring and most German food, but this is less than impressive. The dill sauce is all you taste, and its thick creamy mouth feel does nothing for the texture of the herring. It was an experiment I won’t repeat.

I almost bought this product
And then I noticed, listed in the German ingredients list, rapeseed oil!!!!!! (Rapsöl in German) POISON! If it weren't for that, I would have tried it, and it probably would have gotten five stars from me. But rapeseed oil is the WORST POSSIBLE OIL for human consumption. It not only contains a poisonous substance some people react to, but it is the precursor to canola oil, which clogs arteries. Among other things. So I tried to figure out a way to tell the company directly about the reason I refuse to buy it, but I was unable to do so. I went to the Appel web site. Their email form doesn't work. Their phone number is disconnected. So if anyone knows how to let the German company know to take this TOXIC OIL out of an otherwise excellent product, please do so! In the meantime, caveat emptor. If you are staying away from rapeseed or canola, and can't read German, be aware, that it does contain rapeseed oil.

Just God Awful.
I love herring, but this is inedible. I wish there were a way to leave less than 1 star.

A great snack nut I buy the one in tomato sauce
Do not like the taste of this one too much, I prefer the tomato sauce

Terrible taste
Would give minus stars if I could. Even our dog wouldn’t eat it. It was granted a lot less expensive than other herring and I can see why.
