The higher glass jar has plenty of room for your starter to grow and the this is now the only spatula I use to mix in new flour and water with ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value, but some issues *by O***Y on February 9, 2025* Bought this mainly for the jar, the thermometer and the band. Didn't really need the other accessories. Jar definitely works as advertised, but I learned some things along my sourdough journey which would probably make me go a different way. One of the big things with sourdough is the discard and feeding cycle. You learn this right away. Cleaning the sides of this jar can be a real challenge, especially after a few days. The tall straight vertical sides of the jar make scraping the insides pretty difficult. When flour on the sides sets up it's like concrete, and getting this scraped off the small diameter but tall jar will have you finding new words in your vocabulary! I finally wound up switching to an actual sourdough jar with the angled sides because of this. I would say if you're just starting out this set will work fine, but after a while you'll see what I mean about cleaning the sides. Maybe I'm just too OCD about it, but I just didn't like the concrete-like grunge on the sides of the jar. Quality wise, this is a decent set.
