Not SAE Ports
I should have read the reviews before purchasing because someone pointed this out in another review. The description said SAE, which is false. The ports on this are BSPP, which is an overseas standard (British Standard). If you try to use NPT in these ports the threads will start but you'll have a hard time getting them to seal because there's no taper on the threads and the threads themselves are a different shape. I learned this the hard way many years ago. They're straight threads and I believe they're made to seal with an o-ring like proper SAE ports. The fittings you need for these are not typically available stateside so you'll be forking over extra to have them shipped from Europe or Asia, or to find someone who actually has them in stock here, so that any money you saved on this valve will be exceeded by purchasing the special overseas fittings. Unless you already have the fittings on your machine, save yourself time and money and find one that actually has SAE ports. You can walk into any hydraulics store and buy affordable fittings right off the shelf anywhere in the US, (plus the online industrial suppliers) for SAE, JIC or NPT, but not BSPP. I gave 3 stars because it otherwise seems like a good valve. Note to seller: you'll have a lot fewer returns and bad reviews if you change the description and remove the SAE designation. Some buyers will probably still want this for their import equipment that already has the BSPP fittings. I know Amazon can be a pain in the butt with that kind of stuff, so my advice is that if you can't easily fix this listing with an accurate description, start over and create a new one. It'll save you a lot of grief.

NOT NOT NOT "S.A.E." ports!!!
NOT NOT NOT "S.A.E." ports... This unit has BSPP (British Standard Parallel Pipe), they are a straight-thread ports. They also not BSP (British standard pipe) - which has a tapered thread. Seems almost intentionally misleading. If you're looking at this valve, it's probably because (like me) you didn't want to spend 150 bucks at Northern Tool or Tractor supply. But do yourself a favor - shell out the cash for the better valve. What you'll spend in special-order fittings (and time) will eat up whatever savings this valve gave you. Too bad too, because other than the whack port threads, the valve looks pretty good. The larger ports for supply and return are 1/2 -14 BSPP, and the work ports are 3/8-19 BSPP. Again, those are STRAIGHT threads, NOT tapered threads like BSP.
