Thick gauge, gold plated for optimum signal contact with speaker connectors. No noise, pristine sound. I'd buy this again!

Beautiful and functional
Actually, the installation of the speaker wire into the Nakamichi Spade Y Banana Plug (why is it called a banana plug when it's just a split Y?) ñààwas very straightforward. There are 2 important things to remember: the first is to make sure you strip enough of the insulation so have the appropriate amount of exposed wire inside the device, and second, do NOT remove the screws from the device - leave them in the screw holes in. These things make otherwise you'll go crazy trying to get them back in while trying to keep your speaker wire in place. Once the speaker wires are in the device you can and hook them to the speaker terminal posts much easier than doing it with bare wire, giving you a more positive connection and if you change speakers it's just as easy. Yes, the Nakamichis are on the expensive side but you get what you paid for: high quality craftsmanship and materials and very aesthetically pleasing.

Perfect ends for good speaker cables. I used the Nakamichi banana plugs on one end and these on the speaker ends. They have 2 screws to hold wire securely. Well made.
