The cost difference varies from place to place. On Amazon this product is between $3-10.00 more than E.R. It also comes in a 3-gallon container with a dipping basket, which is very handy. I use gloves, but you can dip your hand in or scrub the object right in the solution. E.R. can be reused over and over and I've had the same 3 gallons for 3 years! I restore metal woodworking tools on an average of 3-4 tools/day. Now that longevity!! I would recommend getting E.R. in the 3-gallon container if you can afford it, and you plan to use it often enough to justify the price of $35-$55.00. And no I don't work for E.R., lol. Good luck. **Q: wanting to put in a tank on a 87 jag without taking off the tank will this stuff in a closed gas tank if i let it set for a day or too?** A: The directions say not to let parts soak for more than 24 hours at a time. With that said, assuming you fill the tank enough to soak all of the rusted areas AND do the treatment with an ambient temperature of at least 68° (above 75° works faster) it will work. If it's heavily rusted you may need to treat it multiple times. As far as not taking the tank of, so long as you can drain all of the rust remover and the water that is used to deactivate it you'll be good to go (ensure you flush the tank with gasoline at the end). **Q: will this work on fire scale and boric acid residue?** A: Metal Rescue only works on iron and steel. If you're talking about iron or steel items that have been exposed to high temperatures or a flame then yes Metal Rescue will dissolve the rust on the surface but it can't do anything about pitting, etching or other surface damage caused by the heat. Any other metal like silver, brass, gold etc Metal Rescue will not have any affect on. Boric acid such as flux? I doubt it would help at all. **Q: would this work on badly rusted swords from 50+ years ago?** A: I guess that would depend on how heavily rusted it is....But this stuff WORKS! I've used it on rusty car and motorcycle parts, and it too the rust off. You'll need enough to cover the sword and let it soak, but in my experience....This stuff is great!
