As far as the question, I suggest you check your state's regulations regarding what can be sent. I know outside food is not allowed in many but there may be some that allow it. Our country's recidivism rate is astronomical compared to the rest of the world, and compared to countries that treat prisoners like human beings in particular. But if we all think like not so sweet mom then we should continue this awful system and remain at the top of the list for percentage of people incarcerated. Go USA?
