Great for target archery
Bought the spotting scope for target archery as I have just started shooting 70m. Really good focus at that distance and can see every arrow clearly. I use with my own tripod, on a quick release attachment, so can’t attest to the quality of the supplied one. The carrying case is really hand, as is the phone mount - I haven’t used it to record arrows yet, but will be looking into using it in the future. Great quality for the price and have used in several competitions now.

Basically pretty good for 25x-60x, phone adapter rubbish.
Pros • Basic performance of optics seems good given it’s a fraction of the price of better scopes – it is usable and can give enjoyment Cons • Range is really up to about 55-60x (image degrades quite a lot at 75x) • Phone adapter terrible and appears worse than on previous cheaper model More detail • Impressions of build • In use • Performance --Impressions of build— Out of the box the body of the scope seems well made from metal (aluminium?). There is an included carry bag which is padded and a cleaning cloth. There’s also the ‘phone/digiscoping adapter (more of which later). Also included is a table-top tripod with cast metal legs. The scope has a brass standard tripod female thread underneath. --In use— The minimum focusing distance is about 7.13m at 25x and 7.25 at 75x. Focusing is by the twist knob on the top. The eyepiece is in a fixed position on top of the scope (i.e. it doesn’t rotate so that you can look in from the side for example). The eyepiece has a cup which rotates up. It doesn’t have any kind of rubber cup as such however so it doesn’t help with blocking of light. The zoom is controlled on the eyepiece. The eyepiece is also removable (I see that the manufacturer offers a camera which will screw on instead for example). I found that the eyepiece came unscrewed a bit too easily. If you reduce the zoom to 25x, but you’re still turning, it starts to come undone. The tabletop tripod is reasonably sturdy although of limited use unless you happen to have a tabletop out with you when birdwatching. It might work in a hide perhaps although it all depends on the relative heights of the table, what you’re looking out of and where you can perch when using. A proper tripod of some sort will usually be needed. The tripod has a single twist control which locks rotation and the up/down action. It’s not very easy to use however as once you have your target in view, tightening this control tends to move the position slightly and at high levels of zoom that’s enough to mean you’re no longer looking at what you wanted. It’s not a huge criticism at this price as even more expensive tripods and ball heads suffer from the same to a degree. The ’phone adapter supplied is….horrible. It just slots over the eyepiece, but cannot be tightened in place. So it can flop around and I often found it not coupled tightly to the eyepiece because the weight of the phone moves it. It’s just about usable, but you really won’t want to. I noticed that the one they picture as supplied with the previous (now cheaper) version of this scope looks a bit better. It has a screw to tighten the adapter to the eyepiece. --Performance-- It has a pretty narrow depth of focus (as would anything with this size of optics and level of magnification) so accurate focusing is required and you may not get all of your subject in focus in one go. At 25-50x the image is pretty good and very usable and enjoyable. Beyond that it degrades and at 75x I found it near impossible to get a sharp image. I have included some photos as examples, but note that the image to the eye is better than these. I tried this for some birdwatching as we were visiting an area where birds of prey were present. Compared to the 10x50 binoculars we had also, it certainly gave us a different and much better view. With a lot of effort (which included steadying the phone adapter with some strategically placed twigs) I also managed to get some footage of birds on a nest about 150m away. It’s not great, but I wouldn’t have it at all without this and although suffering from various image faults (chromatic aberration/colour fringing mainly), it did allow me to see behaviour which I probably would not have otherwise. So, taking the price into account, it’s not bad at all. --Conclusion-- Decent scope but realistically 25x- ~60x usable. Tripod better than nothing. Phone adapter needs to be binned. They have let the product down with this. The only difference between this and the previous model appears to be a different lens coating. I don’t know whether that is a big improvement, but it feels wrong to pay ~17% more and get that coating, but with what appears to be a worse ‘phone adapter.
