Favorite activity book for the graphic designer dad
This book is so unique for our son. It’s a puzzle whether you work from the left to right page or right to left picture. The scenes are great to talk about with a child, to expand upon. This is our third Pantone memorabilia in our house, we already have a coffee mug orange and tree ornament orange.

Great for colors and fine motor skills.
My husband owns a print shop and they do a lot of graphic design. So we bought this for our son. My son is a little to young for it because he's only 10 months, but i think he'll love it in a year or two. My husband and his employees thought it was very creative of them! They want a copy to keep in the shop! Updated: My son is now 2.5 years old and enjoys matching the different shades of color. It can be a little challenging for young children with motor skills. I've always felt that the more you have them work on it, the better they will become. The pieces are small and flat, made from "board book" type of material. I can see this book lasting us many years because it is of high quality.

Comparison vs. 'Pantone Colors' book
Debating between this book and "Pantone Colors", i find "Puzzles" more suited to toddlers, whereas "Colors" is better for older kiddies who can discern shade nuances with a larger vocabulary (i.e "Bubblegum Pink" vs. "Eraser Pink". In "Puzzles", there are 6 pages -- each with a 4-piece puzzle (made of thick paperboard that friction-fit into their shapes) that teaches shape/color recognition and coordination. It's mess-free because the pieces are stored within the spreads. My 2 yr old loves it for the replay value. Only 2 things to watch when purchasing; 1) The book doesn't lay completely flat, so young hands may need to steady the book on a hard surface. 2) with time, some of the puzzle pieces with lose their friction-fit and may fall loose out of the book. Nevertheless, these are minor things that are easily overlooked from an otherwise excellent book.

Lovely, but too easy to lose pieces
This is a sweet puzzle book, perfect for toddlers who are learning to distinguish different shades. Both my two year old and I love it. I just wish it were magnetic or had something distinctive printed on the back of each the colored puzzle pieces. I have a horde of untidy craft-doing art-hoarding children who produced lots of scraps from crafting and disintegrated art projects during the holidays. When we were cleaning up the artfully spread around debris of broken snowflakes, random pipe cleaners, paper, card, stickers and foam we mistook the irregularly-shaped raincoat yellow puzzle piece for yet another scrap, and it went into the trash. That's a shame (and I can't blame the 2yo, whose motor skills are stretched by putting the puzzle pieces where they belong, and the pieces will fall out unless put in exactly correctly and firmly lodged). I wish I could replace the missing piece but the shade and shape were deliberately unusual: it's hard to imagine being able to find exactly the same shade in suitable card stock or foam, even if I were able to precisely copy the shape. Otoh, the five year old's favorite broken foam snowflake was saved but that's small consolation.

Cute puzzles for toddlers
Fun puzzle pieces of varying shapes...my 2.5 yr old can do it mostly independently. My 5 yr old also enjoys it and finds it easy. To be clear - there is no story to go with the book...it's just a page with pictures of four objects in varying shades of the color, and opposite of that is a page with four squares of the varying shades. The puzzle pieces can be placed within the picture of the objects or within the four color-squares. It'd be a great gift for a 2 or 3 yr old child.

Bright, colorful, cute puzzles
My son got this book when he was 2 and he loved it. Now he's almost 4 and he still enjoys doing the puzzles occasionally. I have bought it as a gift for several other toddlers as well.

A Hit w/ My 3 Year Old!
My three year old loves playing with this book! Who knew a book could be a toy... hahaha As she gets older, I'm sure we'll discuss the variations of tone and hue of the different colors.
