As somebody who just wanted to add connectors to a handful of network cables this was fantastic. Great price point and seemed to work really well. I had a few cases of the stripper cutting the wires unintentionally and one case where one of the wires had no signal after crimping (so I had to redo it) - no idea if this is a comment on my lack of experience or the tool itself but overall highly recommended this product. Comes with everything you need (except the cable and a 9v battery for the tester) at a great price point.

I bought this unit because I was tired of trying to see if I had inserted the cable wires into the plug correctly. The pass-through feature of the these type of connectors makes it much easier to see if the wires are inserted correctly. I've made over 100 connections and the unit seems to be working just fine. I had to learn a bit of new technique due to the way the unit cuts wire and then crimps the connector, but once I got that down pat, I just sailed along from one connection to another. The wire trimmer at the plug works well, only occasionally leaving one dangling a bit. The included connectors seem to be sized for 23 gauge wire and insulation thickness although I did have luck terminating 24 gauge. The wires come out the end of the connector in direct alignment rather than some of those that are staggered. I believe the staggered ones are rated higher but for my home gigabit network they work just fine.

Being able to push through extra wire made the contacts much more reliable. I used to be able to do this with a more traditional crimp tool without the ease of this when I had to do it everyday. That being said having this set just makes it easier and less likely to mess up as you can check the order before finishing the crimp while in the tool. My traditional tool you did one final check and prayed nothing was loose or moved by the time you punched. 5 stars as I did 20 terminations and all 20 are passing all my line tests thus far in my new home.

I have been making ethernet cables for years, with real tools and it has worked fine. This newer tool makes it so much easier and reduces the errors you sometimes get when pushing the wires into the connector. This is well worth my time!

Works and does the job. Just takes a little time feeding the wire though in the right order.
