White light blinds you to anything outside the illuminated area. Red just enhances what you're illuminating but allows you to still see what's outside the illumination. **Q: What wavelength is the red light?** A: Haven’t measured it but imagine it would be 680 nanometers. **Q: Is there a way to shut off the strobe permanently? It is annoying to cycle back to high and have the strobe.** A: Unfortunately, no.
