ROOFULL External CD DVD Drive with 4 USB Ports & 2 SD/TF Card Slot (8 in 1)

Great CD DVD drive. I use it for my Dell laptop, and it was very easy to use. Had some software to install and this CD DVD drive was just what I needed. Simple plug and play. Love the thin design and that the USB connection cable easily stores flat on the bottom when not in use. It also came with a power cable in case needed, but so far, I have not had to use that. A perfect addition for my laptop. Now I can once again access stored and backed up files that I had on CDs. I also hope to watch DVD movies but have not tried that yet. The company was also very great and attentive to make sure everything was good. Highly recommend. UPDATE: I did put in a DVD to watch a movie and this CD DVD Drive functioned perfectly. Thumbs up all around!

My purpose for purchasing this item is to read and extract data files from a CD. I use a MacBook Air and was skeptical at first when I bought this, given numerous negative reviews saying the device isn't compatible with macOS. I still gave it a shot, considering it wasn't labeled as a frequently returned item. I'm happily surprised to find out that it is compatible with macOS. The following is the setup I used that specifically worked for me. Even though it has the ability to connect directly to usb-c, I opted to use an apple adapter to connect usb-a to usb-c. I connected the power cable to an outlet and it ran smoothly. It was plug-and-play, no installation required. Aside from the case, it is a plus that the cables with the exception of the power cable can be tucked in under the device making it more convenient when stored. Overall, I'm satisfied with this product as it served its purpose.

I bought a new laptop and realized after the fact that I didn't consider having a built-in CD-DVD drive for documents or pictures that I have saved since 2007. I also didn't consider the number of ports in the new laptop so had also ordered a hub. The ROOFULL drive was as easy as it could get for a home user of something I never used before. Simply plug it in and it's ready to use. As shown in the pictures, the data cable is "hard-wired" to the device and stored on the back. On the "connection" end, there is a connection for a USB-A port and a connection for a USB-C port. (The extra data cable has an end with an A connection and the other end has a C connection.) I tested the device by plugging it into an A port, a C port, and into the hub's A port. The instructions suggest the device may not run normally if plugged into a hub so I wanted to see. It seemed to work fine during the time it took to test it. The one picture shows my external storage device plugged into the A port, my hub of additional ports plugged into the C port, and the CD-DVD device plugged into a hub A port. My purpose for having this device is to access things I have stored on CDs and it worked perfectly for that. I can't speak to any of the other advertised functions like writing a CD because that's above my expertise and I don't need the device for that purpose. The carrying case is very well padded and will protect my device while it sits idle until I need to look back in history. My initial opinion is that I highly recommend it for ease of use. The device was supplied by ROOFULL Direct and came as quickly as estimated. I am very satisfied. I gave 4 stars only because I'm not qualified to give it 5 stars because my level of use is probably far below that of someone more tech savvy.

This compact little drive is nearly perfect. It’s brilliantly designed, works perfectly, compact case comes with it for travel and storage. You know what you want it for so I’ll by-pass that. I say nearly perfect ONLY because the “”How to use” instructions did not say the slide deck has to be all the way out. Then you press your disc onto the rotating table. I was trying to sort of slide it in, partially opened. I emailed Support, had a detailed and courteous response within 4 hours, did as instructed, and BINGO, works perfectly.

I needed an external CD drive for a new laptop. The description for this one met all of my needs and there were plenty of positive reviews. The item arrived quickly and was well packaged. The drive comes with two USB cables; one that is attached to the drive and securely fits in a groove on the bottom of the drive. Very convenient! I plugged it in for the first time and within five seconds it was ready to rip. I ripped four CDs into my ITunes folder the first time I used the device and there were no issues. The drive also comes with a very nice, well padded carrying case that has a zippered pouch on it to store the paperwork and spare USB cable. I wasn't expecting that. It makes it so much easier to carry around and travel with. If you are looking for a reasonably priced CD drive, look no further, this one is great!

This item fit the bill exactly. It works as advertised, and has extra ports for connections of USB devices through this drive, as well as an ethernet port, which my computer doesn't have. Its footprint is small, which is great for my work environment. It's a good value for my money.

This external CD drive is exactly what I needed! When I switched to Apple Music a few years back I didn’t think I’d ever use iTunes again so I bought a laptop with no CD drive. Recently I obtained a rare CD that cannot be streamed and I learned I could still use iTunes - enter Roofull! Foolproof to use - Literally plug it in to USB port and it’s set to go. Love that I could get it in white and the case is the ideal accessory!! I’m now loading many old CDs. Do not hesitate!!

Here is my early opinion on this disc drive after playing and ripping a few audio and data CDs: Pros -- It comes with lots of ports and features for a relatively low price. -- The power cable holder being built into the bottom of the device is helpful for traveling. -- It is truly plug and play on my Windows 11 Lenovo laptop. You don't have to download any additional software or install any drivers if you already have Windows Media Player or something similar. -- The CD reading and CD ripping speeds are neither slow nor fast, just about what you'd expect from those tasks. It took around 5 minutes for it to open and extract a data CD containing a 700 MB zip file. And it took roughly 5 minutes to rip a 280 MB music CD into .WAV lossless audio files. -- You can get a free 2-year warranty extension after emailing the manufacturer your order number. Cons -- The power cable is shorter than I would have liked. You will have to set this drive right next to your PC's USB port. -- It's so lightweight that the whole thing moves when I push the disc tray back into place after opening it. The mechanical eject button only works for sliding the tray out, not pushing it back in. -- The super highpitched whining noise that it makes while functioning is a bit ear-grating. If you have a high sensitivity to sound, you'll want to wear noise-cancelling headphones while using this drive. -- The ROOFULL logo sticker on top of the device looks cheap, so I just peeled it off so that it wouldn't be such an aesthetic eyesore. -- Whoever's packing this company's shipments is putting A LOT of faith into their foam carrying case, because that's the only protection it shipped with inside of a thin plastic bag. Final Verdict With all that said, for only $30, I'd still say that the cons are mostly just nitpicks and not dealbreakers. I currently plan on keeping this drive and just dealing with the fact that it's good but less than perfect.

i just bought this product and it is really so good and easy to use , easy portable as well as coming with nice good looking bag which can help me to carry along when travel . the best thing that i like that does not need any driver to play .. so i can use all my DVDs with no problem to worry .

The CD disc drive came with a nicely padded case to hold the drive and extra cable.The Quality appears good. I plugged the drive into my MacBook air and was able to play a CD immediately. It truely is "plug and Play." Roofull advises watching a video for Information but the video shows unnecessary accessories. Two days later Roofull sent a communique with manuals for both PCs and Macs, a very nice gesture on their part. Price is very competitive and I would recommend this CD drive for anyone needing one. Roofull is willing to help with any questions or problems that may arise.
