Mine got very hot as I was transferring close to 95% of it's rated capacity...which took 6 hours to do. After it got so hot, slowing down to a crawl, then stopping for a minute before restarting I did get all my files on it. But, then it started losing the files. Lose a file, put it back, lose another, until it eventually lost 25% or so of my files and wouldn't take a transfer of them back without losing as much as I was putting on it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND it for use for anything close to what they rate it. You'll lose files and burn your finger if you try. **Q: Does it fit easily in a usb port (or is it really tight - the shell on the end that inserts into usb looks pretty thick in the photos) ?** A: My 128gb version was an abnormally tight fit causing the housing that inserts into any device to break. It has always run hotter than full size USB's when after 10 months it eventually failed. **Q: Does it get hot when you're just playing music off of it? What makes this drive stand out: The compact design is brilliant. Once plugged into my laptop, it sits nearly flush with the USB port - so low-profile that I can leave it in permanently without worrying about it getting bumped or broken. This is perfect for expanding my laptop's storage without carrying around a bulky external drive. The speed is impressive. I regularly transfer large video files and photo libraries, and the transfer rates are noticeably faster than my old flash drives. Moving a couple of gigabytes takes minutes instead of the tedious wait I used to endure. The claim about transferring a movie in under 30 seconds is accurate in my experience with USB 3.0 ports. The 128GB capacity gives me plenty of room for documents, media files, and backups. I use it to store my entire photo library with space to spare. The password protection feature (via downloadable software) is a nice security touch, though I haven't personally needed it yet.
