The S Bilt's brackets were a tad too thin for my liking. I have a full size 8x8 awning but only a stock size rack on my 4runner. I used these with LFD cross bars and there was still room for my rooftop tent. I actually doubled up on them with the OG brackets that were a little longer. With the gusset it didnt quite fit. The downward facing L Bracket is the one that came with the S Bilt awning and it worked perfectly for magnetic lights under the awning at night. My only issue with these brackets is minor and not a big deal, but I had to drill out the slotted holes to fit the bolts from the other brand awning. Seemed strange that a much more heavy duty bracket would have smaller holes that the more flimsy one but it wasn't a big deal and took 5 minutes. When my full rack comes in I might use these to mount traction boards or the shower when the tent isn't on the roof. Overall pleased with the purchase and would buy again. ARB make quality products as a general statement and these are on point as well. Review: Good mounting plates - These are strong and serve their purpose! High quality steel.
