The black plates are not steel, they are aluminum. Aluminum melts at less than half the temperature as steel and it would not survive a house fire. I have bought the steel plates before (the silver color plates) and they are fantastic, they do the job well and great quality, but not the black plates.

A bit disappointed that on pictures these plates look like they have one for writing words and the second one is blank and used to cover the words. But its not. If you want to hide them you would need a second plate out of 4 included to flip it and cover. Its just a strange concept Basically you need 4 plates to have a set of 2 hidden seeds. But for the price its fine.. Also i will a pen would be included. But again for the price its alright

Your seed phrase of 12 or 24 words in a specific order are the only thing that will restore your wallet if you forget your password and you will lose all the crypto you had in that wallet. With the word seed phrase, you can restore your wallet withing a couple of minutes. These plates are made of quality aluminum and once the words are engraved on them, they will last a very long time. I keep mine in my safe but they can be put in your wallet also if you need to take them on the go. I would highly recommend everyone who has a crypto wallet with crypto inside to have one of these for each wallet so you can never get locked out and lose your investment.
