Bought these as a class art project for the children to make a floor during our construction unit. These are simple enough to lay together.They're straight, they are a little rough.So be careful of splinters. My three year olds didn't seem to have much of a problem with that. After they were glued together on a piece of paper, we sanded the balsa wood floor down that they made and put watercolor to stain our floor different colors. The wood absorbed very well. Then, we put our glue over the top to seal in the color. Not that the rest of that review really matters.The wood is also breakable, like you can bend it and snap it easily if you want to, if you don't want to, then don't.But it's great project wood.

Excellent soft wood that my gerbils love to chew on. I cut these into 3 inches pieces for them and it's perfect.

Using them.to make obstacles for my 1/24 scale rc crawlers. Works perfectly and it's to scale

On time shipping. Only problem was the sticks are slightly under size but the tolerance on a fraction is +- 1/32 so I guess there are technically within speck just make sure your project will work within the range

The balsa wood worked great for the structure of my model of my cabin. Wanted to make a 3D model of my cabin before I had additions put on. Just checking how they would look before they were added.
