PharmaNac 900mg NEW SIZE (32 Effervescent Tabs) N.A.C. Brand: BioAdvantex (Apple or Pomegranate - Flavors may Vary)

I purchased this product as a supplement for my kids, age 5 and 8. My 8 year old was once diagnosed with mild Aspergers and now has an ADD diagnosis. I take a NAC supplement because it has improved my mental and physical health. I learned that parents with major glutathione deficiencies often have children with the same issues. Here is what I have found for both of my kids after giving them 1-2 servings per day. I noticed with my 8 year old, it levels his energy levels. He would often get these huge energy bursts that would result in being either very aggressive or very goofy. After 2 weeks, he is more balanced. He takes direction better and has more control of his body. He also takes a vitamin B complex, fish oil and Focus supplement. My 5 year old is the kind of kid who was always getting a cold or sniffles. He would clear his throat constantly bc of post-nasal drip. I was giving him allergy medicine everyday, which would work sometimes, but not always. I noticed with him after a taking 1 dose a day, the throat clearing has stopped. Time will tell once school starts how his immunity has improved, but so far so good. My only complaint about the supplement is the price. I have seen bulk NAC powders, but this is the easiest and funnest for my kids to take. They only drink water, so they enjoy taking this bc it is fizzy and flavored.

My daughter has a genetic condition called Prader-Willi Syndrome.. One of the symptoms of this complex condition is the compulsion to pick the skin, causing open sores, scarring and infection..There was a study published in the American Journal of Medical genetics reporting great success in reducing or even stopping this disturbing behavior using N-AcetylCysteine (specifically the PharmaNac brand- because of the way it is produced and packaged, it retains potency and is much better absorbed than typical drug store brand) Here is a link to the Pub Med abstract of that study- [...] I am please to report my daughter has been on PharmaNac for less than a month, and has seen complete resolution of her skin picking behavior! This is the first time in years she has no active sores, and her old "pick spots" are having an opportunity to finally heal. She reports she has no longer has the desire to pick, and can't imagine that she once deliberately caused such harm to her own body- PharmaNac, You are a Rockstar at our house!!!!!

My doctor had been prescribing N-acetylcysteine ("NAC") for use in the nebulizer for a lung problem, and insurance paid for it since it was by prescription. That's no longer being manufactured, so I tried this--I especially trust it because it's made in Germany. Don't like the wild berry taste but it is just as effective as the prescription medication. Wonderful to find it on Amazon, my favorite shopping site.

The manufacturer of PharmaNAC was recently changed from Germany to somewhere in India. They changed the flavors and added sucralose to the formulation. Sucralose has recently been linked to cancer in mice. ( http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/244603.php ) Furthermore, the new product tastes very bad, and does not seem as effective as the old product (e.g. the wildberry flavored version). The company must have been trying to cut corners with the new manufacturer in India, and it shows in the quality of the product and its taste and ingredients. I will find my NAC elsewhere.

Great contribution for aspergers. My son was initially successful for several months on Lexapro. It had totally eliminated meltdowns and sensory sensitivities, he was smiley, humming, became a prolific artist, and made him very well related to others. Literally made his school in awe of the improvement and toatally mainstreamed him. But it backfired after 9 amazing months and made him disinhibited, hostile, and agitated and the school totally removed him from all mainstream classes. We replaced it with Lamictal, which had similar hostility, impulsivity, little benefit, and made him shut down, losing all interest in people or his usual hobbies, and senselessly rigid. As we lowered that and added 900mg NAC twice a day after 2 months his aggressive acting out abruptly stopped on a dime. When upset he stopped and silently worked through it for a couple hours. He's still has a way to go to return hopefully to that happy boy we knew from 3 years ago, but this has made a substantial difference.

I have moved to the US from Germany a few years ago, and it basically grew up with this supplement. In Germany it is widely used whenever a cold is going around, or when we have already caught a cold. NAC (in Germany the product is called ACC due to its additional ingredient, vitamin C), is hard to find in effervescent tablets, and it was thrilled when I found it on Amazon. I probably order a few more boxes, in case it disappears... This also helps for hangovers (back in the years of partying...), and it protects the liver from taking too much acetaminophen (Tylenol). Of course, the main benefit is the breaking down of phlegm and mucus, and therefore reducing the healing time from a nasty cough. NAC is also the responsible for the creation of glutathione, which is a immensely important antioxidant our body produces (mostly in the liver). I couldn't recommend this product any higher. Did I mention that it tastes great...?!

We were excited to try this when our Dr. told us he had seen some good results in other children (aged 8-14) with helping a little with focus and slowing down overly active brain chemistry. We tried it for 1 1/2 months, and it was expensive, and we saw no difference. We discontinued using it when we reported our experience to our Dr.

This has done amazing things for my asthma, allergies and overall energy levels. I also highly recommend it before drinking any alcohol (but not after), especially if you're a lightweight or prone to hangovers. It will make you smell kinda like sulphur immediately after drinking it, in a weirdly cathartic way. This is what they give to people with Acetaminophen/Paracetamol poisoning in the Emergency Room to protect their livers, and it works incredibly well for that. I did a lot of research before trying this one out (as I do for all vitamins/supplements), but I was pleasantly surprised by the immediate and obvious effects of this one. It really tastes and smells like crap but it's worth it!
