These are not bulky on me and they weigh less. I have incomplete spinal cord injury with lower limb paralysis. I require kid sized everything so I was thrilled when I found a company that makes splints that actually fit. These are easier for me to put on and very comfortable for what I need with my wheelchair. I don't use them for sleeping as I need everyday support especially on active days. The grip on the bottom allows for stable transfers into my wheelchair. These braces are easy to adjust once the initial trial and error phase is over. With or without socks thses are comfortable, comform nicely, gives my feet enough support that I don't always need my wheelchair leg rests which is a huge advantage in my small apartment. Firm and sturdy for sure and I will be buying another pair. A tight budget is not a big problem now that I found these.
