Created by Andre Dang, a former buyer for Harrods and Selfridges, Manfood came about as a direct result of his husband Jon complaining about a lack of properly crisp, chunky pickles: he was fed up of buying jars only to find bland, wet mush inside. All of the fruits combine perfectly to produce a tasty, sweet chutney that I really enjoyed. It makes a nice change from savoury onion based chutneys. Itโs quite a small jar for ยฃ3.99 (at the time of review), however, you would pay more than that for a similar product at an artisan food market.

I could really taste the plums, pears and apples but I didnโt really taste any fig, although I could see the fig so I knew it was there. Good quality product.
Very good tasty chutney, very good with cheese and meat. I love it!

Shame
Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to try it. After I cut the bubble wrap off the lid on the chutney was off and all over it. Sadly had to bin it.

Tasty chutney
I enjoyed this chutney, which has a chunky, thick consistency and tastes great. It is a pity that, whilst it is made in the UK, the plums, figs, apples and pears used to make it are all sourced from outside the UK, when we have an abundance of at least three of those ingredients grown in this country. The chutney is lovely and great paired with a strong cheddar, but I hope the ingredients are sourced as far as possible in the UK in the future.
