Hawk Wind indicator MK2, Multicoloured (hk2)

We enjoy having a quick way to view wind while we sail on the 16' Hobie. Highly recommend. It does a great job and is easy to attach.

Although I do sail I’m using this for judging the wind direction at Home. I live on a small Caribbean and storms can hip though quickly. I’ve seen this windex before sailing. It’s small, lightweight, easy to attach and never slips. I’ve had it working perfectly recently when Hurricane Zeta came though. It worked perfectly and even the harsh rains didn’t impact it. Very happy with my purchase.

Goes on the Sunfish. Just about right for novice and experienced. Hasn't broken yet but we'll see when next we dump the Fish in the drink. Had Hawk's before. I'm a fan.

Product arrived way before Amazon's date. I ordered this because of its offset design which is what I needed for my weather monitoring station which is mounted on a pole and it has the clearance to freely rotate without coming into contact with other components. Nice simple design which is now in service telling me the prevailing wind direction.

Convert the size to inches before deciding. I wanted this for my yard and was worried my wife would get mad for hanging up a large eyesore. Well I put it out back and she can't even see it. Neither can I. Ridiculously tiny. 30 bucks? Come on.Update: On the mast in the back yard it just spins in circles. It is not long enough to hold a direction. Those saying they use this on their boat must be lost at sea. A 24 inch ribbon is a better indicator.

Works well on Blokart land yacht mast. Holds tightly. Price better than original, but works just as well.

I like this item. I use attached it to the chain-link fence in my backyard. It is responsive to a slight wind. Would buy again

Great little wind indicator and nice design. It does not "hunt" (oscillate back and forth) like other models. Nice steady wind direction.

Nach langer Recherche und einigen Fehlbestellungen, die nicht funktioniert haben, habe ich mir diesen Windmesser bestellt. Und endlich, der Windmesser tut was er soll, dies auch sehr zuverlässig. Zudem sieht er auch hübsch aus und macht Spaß, aber das ist natürlich Geschmacksache. Einen Punkt Abzug im Teilbereich Qualität gebe ich, weil der Windmesser kein wirklich hochwertiges Lager hat und teilweise deswegen bei sehr wenig Wind in manchen Zeigerpositionen einen Tick schwerfällig reagiert. Dies ist aber wirklich minimal und rechtfertigt keine Abstufung auf 4 Punkte.Fazit: Der Windrichtungsmesser ist wirklich erfreulich und ich kann ihn empfehlen.

I’ve recently started sailing Lasers about 6/7 months ago and have been stuck in a rut for the last couple of months floating about on the lake, not making much progress and not managing to join in with the racing. I’d been putting off getting a wind indicator because I wanted to learn without one and not become reliant, but I wish I’d done it sooner. First session out the other week with this kit and I was straight into my first racing! Highly recommend, especially if you sail inland and the wind changes direction constantly. The unit itself is well made, light, easily visible and does the job perfectly. Like many people have suggested you might want something to make it float if it comes off. I used one of those cork float key rings you can get which is easily attached/detached.

Great for boats like RS Tera where there isn't an easy way to fit a masthead burgee but tie it on as vulnerable to getting knocked off on busy kids start lines.
