Fabsil Universal Silicone Water Proofer - Black, 1 Litre

I bought the 5L can of Fabsil Paint on proofer. We decanted some of the product into 2 pots over a paint tray as the can isn't great for pouring from, it does spill. We erected the tent in our garden and put down plastic sheets to protect the patio from spillage, and then using 2 inch paint brushes we painted the Fabsil onto the tent. It is a thin liquid and does drip but we held our pots close to the tent and then painted really quickly from the top of each side of the tent to the bottom, starting at the front and working backwards. As we finished painting each section (between any seams) we rubbed it with a clean cloth, which spread the product more evenly than painting had. We had the perfect day for painting, dry with a breeze, we started about 11:30am and finished the first coat by 2:30pm, we took a break and then started doing the 2nd coat as the front of the tent was dry by then. we finished about 5:30/6pm. Our tent is a 4 man tent with a living area that you can stand up in and a bedroom area for 4 (we use it for 2 though). we had been camping on 21st-23rd July and the tent material had been soaked by the misty rain and we had little puddles inside the tent. We ordered this product and used it on 26th July. We then went camping from 31st July to 4th August and had some serious downpours several times during the week but as you can see from the photos the tent was definitely waterproofed, no water soaked into the material, it remained as drops of water which then ran down in little rivulets. We didn't have any pools of water inside the tent. We were extremely pleased with the results. Our tent was bought in 2009 and it's the first time we've waterproofed it which was probably well overdue. As the product had gone on really well, I decided to also paint the product on a long length raincoat and 2 pairs of waterproof trousers, all of which were quite old and no longer waterproof. I washed then dried the 3 items then hung them on the line with a plastic sheet under them while I painted on the product, wiping/rubbing them over with a clean cloth as I went. I used the raincoat last week and was really impressed with how effective the product was. It also did not change the colour of the coat nor the tent. It definitely is effective, we've probably used less that 2.5 litres so far but I have other stuff I am definitely going to be using it on. It was worth painting the product onto the tent etc, we had to work quick to prevent drips but it stayed wet long enough to paint the drips out.

Bought to re waterproof a bunch of coats for winter. Simply, job done, water just runs off. More my error, but after first application some seams leaked a little. But after a 2nd go at those areas, now watertight. Simply need to be thorough during application, and not scared to apply liberally. I apply with a small handheld spray gun, perfect to apply 1 handed while holding up sleeves etc with the other. Will certainly buy again when the time comes.

🏕️ The product is a clear, silicone-based waterproofing treatment supplied in a large tin with a black cap. It includes UV protection and is described as suitable for use on all fabric types. The liquid inside has a thin, runny consistency I recognise from previous Fabsil products. I applied it using both a brush and a mini roller on an extension handle, and it went on easily, drying quickly. Dispensing from the tin was awkward and caused a small amount of spillage. I usually expect to reassess waterproofing after a few months, so I will monitor how this performs over time. The cost appeared reasonable, particularly for the larger tin, though clearer product information would have helped in making the initial choice. On the plus side the tin was well sealed and has a handy carrying handle at the top. ✔️

Absolutely the best in my opinion this item goes on well and dries well that is scratch resistant . This product is value for money and would purchase again 👍 .

Brought this for my horses rugs. Applied with a small roller which was quick & easy. Both rugs have been used in heavy rain & he has stayed dry. Will definitely buy again.

Great product and price, quality and works well

Fabsil is a fantastic waterproofing agent for all tents and awnings. You can paint on or use a small pump sprayer for plants etc. I have used this product on various tents over the years and have never had a water ingress problem

Bought to rewaterproof a large tent at the back end of August when it always rains! I put up the tent in my sister's back yard as my yard isn't large enough. I read the instructions and it said protect the surface you're spraying on. I didn't really have anything to cover her entire large back yard with so just went for it (with her blessing). I used an auto pump sprayer to make application easier and there was a lot of run off that went straight into her yard. Initially it looked like the large greasy looking pools on her yard were there forever and I felt very guilty but after they dried they were invisible! (Phew). On a three night camp with plenty of rain I can confirm that my tent is now waterproof. The water beaded up nicely and did not enter the tent, even at the seams. Loses one star as it seems rather expensive and is a bit on the smelly side when applying. Happy camper!

Non ci credevo! La mia enorme tenda che ormai aveva perso la impermeabilità, è ritornata come nuova con due mani date a rullo. Non gocciola per sotto! Prodotto da tenere sempre in casa... meglio, in cantina!

die Werbung verspricht nicht zu viel. Ich habe mein gesamte Campet damit inpregniert. Da wußte ich noch nicht das der Urlaub aus Dauerregen bestehen würde... Wir sind alle trocken geblieben :)) Einfache Anwendung, toller Erfolg und dazu noch eine Sache die grade bei alten Zelten behoben wird: es riecht seither nicht mehr so muffelig. Das einzige, was man beachten sollte: am besten mindestens 2 Tage ausdünsten lassen, sonst könnt es unangene Kopfschmerzen geben.

Ik heb 2 lagen geprobeerd op mijn Saab Cabrio dak maar na 2 maanden lijkt het erop dat de werking al weer veel minder is. Niet te vergelijken met Fabsil Gold.

Prodotto facile da utilizzare, basta un pennello una ciotolina e uno straccio. Basta trattare un pezzetto alla volta e poi asciugare subito con lo straccio, evitate colate di prodotto. Il risultato è ottimo, la tenda non cambia colore come molti dicono, riacquista la stato di impermeabilità originale. Ho usato il prodotto su una tenda nash doble top mk3 da due usando circa 1,3 litri di prodotto. Nelle foto particolare posteriore della tenda prima e dopo il trattamento .

Ich habe unseren Faltcaravan damit imprägniert und das Ergebnis ist sehr gut!!! Hatte es davor (erfolglos) mit diversen anderen Mitteln probiert und schon fast aufgegeben. Beim Faltcaravan handelt es sich um ein Baumwollzelt. Ich hatte den Stoff, in aufgebauten Zustand, stark durchtränkt und deshalb auch mehr als angegeben benötigt. Aber jetzt ist er endlich wieder dicht! Es hat jetzt zwei Tage sehr stark und lange geregnet und alles dicht! Super Ergebnis mit sehr überschaubarem Aufwand!!!
