During the early 1700s, the Admiral Fitzroy was used by sailors to forecast weather. They relied upon the constantly changing crystal formations to predict the weather. It is believed that the electromagnetic changes in weather patterns activate crystals inside. Large flakes indicates overcast weather in warmer seasons or snowy in the winter; A cloudy storm glass with small stars indicates thunderstorms; and if the liquid is clear, the weather conditions will be bright and clear. 2 year warranty.

The storm glass works perfect, I would give 5 stars if based on the storm glass alone. Took away a star because the included directions are WRONG! All these bad reviews (storm glass isn't working... it never changes... etc.) are because the directions say to place it where there is little to no temperature change over time. The science behind the storm glass is that it works because the camphor in the liquid is more solid at lower temperatures and more liquid at higher temperatures. If the liquid inside isn't able to change temperature with the outdoor temperature, you won't be able to see any change, and it won't be able to even try to "predict" the weather for you.

Item's glad broke in my hands. Chemical liquid spilled all over me creating a burning sensation.  Washed it off quickly, burning stopped.
