Activate 1 Student Book

The book is used as science textbook in school so I bought it for using at home as the children not allowed to bring it home. Packed full of information that is easy for my child to understand. Brilliant book. Would definitely recommend. Will be buying the Activate 2 in a few months.

Very useful for science at secondary level and has already helped daughter understand her science homework better. Seems well written and laid out and is being used by son in Year 10 for his revision and daughter in Year 8 so worth its money

My son uses the online version for school, but this is perfect and is a nice clear book to use. He is is Year 7. Thoroughly recommend.

This book (and the other two books in the series) are all you will need to help your child do well in Key Stage 3. There are 176 pages of subject content with summary questions and end of chapter questions. Unfortunately the answers are not in the back of the book, so you cannot tell if your child has answered the questions correctly, unless you know the answers yourself. Overall a great book but the answers should be included (or available in a separate book). Not all schools give textbooks out to take home so it's really useful to have home copies to help with homework.

Easily readable and understandable for year 7 children. The paper is of good quality and the pages are colourful with interesting "fantastic fact" . It has summary questions at the end of each topic. Highly recommend this book along with Activate 2.

The scientific subjects are explained, logically presented, and there are excellent graphics and examples. The author does not overcomplicate the subject beyond the KS3 level, something that is done in other texts. Yet, sufficient information is provided.
