ARIATMen's Treadfast 8" Waterproof Work Boot

Great for a year
I purchase these every year. The last pair I had for a year. I wear these boots everyday for roughly 14 hours give or take. Extremely easy to break in, comfortable right out of the box. Very good in the snow, for the price they can't be beat. The water proofing lasted just shy of a year. I am extremely hard on work boots.

Great work boots out of the box
Two months in, and here is my review. I waited two months, but I wanted to write this after twenty minutes wearing these around the farm:I am specifically non-brand loyal- I like to shop around and see what fits my lifestyle the best versus many product features like cost, comfort, etc. that help people choose products.. I had specifically left Ariat as the last brand I tried because I WANTED to like them. I made sure I tried everything first and had as much context as I could before I went with Ariat. Been through every name and no-name brand you can find- from Timberland, Wolverine, Caterpillar, RedWing, Smiths, etc etc etc etc etc etc, there are millions of boots out there. I like Ariat because of their brand history- I work as a agricultural farm mechanic, and I need boots that can survive field conditions day in and day out. Well, all the other brands are comfortable initially. Every brand aims high, starts out well enough, and then, sure enough, by hour five or six, your dogs are barking and you're DYING to get out of your boots and put your feet up.Well, Ariat, Thank you- Thank you for instilling patience I so greatly need to foster in my life. They were worth the wait- These Treadfast work boots are by far the most comfortable boots I've tried straight out of the box, to all-day, hardcore on-the-farm use. Myriads of different terrain, and these are solid on all. The soles have been soaked in hydraulic fluid and didn't slip. They've been caked in manure and hardened mud and a few kicks and a good brush and back to work they go. At the end of 12 hours, they are as solid as when I put them on in the morning.Lots of ankle support, still good range of motion, classic good looks, and great grip on all terrain. As far as longevity- I urge consumers to note the price- These are not $200-$300+ boots that you might expect to last years and years- these are down and dirty boots that are really good right out of the box and when you have to replace them, you don't have to feel bad because you can get these on sale for $100, and they're so so so so so so so so so so so far much better than anything else in THAT price range. For me- I'd buy a new pair of these over ones that may last a bit longer but I would be DEFINITELY SACRIFICING A LOT in terms of all day comfort, break-in period, etc.TLDR, these boots are a great compromise between cost and durability for ACTUALLY GREAT BOOTS.Plus, they're a historic women-owned USA company, BUY THESE ALREADY!!!!All the hate in the reviews here, and I can GUARANTEE they didn't put in the work I did for this review.Happy Farming!

Durable boot
These boots are as good as they say they are. I was buying my husband new boots every few months because they would bust and water would get in. These boots are still in one piece and doing great. Ariat has a lifetime customer with me.

Great work boot turned Junk
Needed a lace-up to replace my Carolina’s. These have met dang near every check on the great list!Flexible, water resistant, and reinforced in the right areas. Specifically the toe. With the waterproofing, the liner does run a little hot, and the insoles that come with them suck. For these two reasons, I gave it a four-star… Still a great boot!** EDIT **8/27/24These boots turned out to be S$#T! The hype i had for these boots waterproofing ended up being overhyped. The soles that i thought were sturdy, ended up splitting all the way through on the ball of my foot and now leak. I’m not entirely sure if the leather also leaks bc of the split but they seem to absorb a LOT of moisture. What a failure on Ariats part. On to the next boot. These really had me going. They’re still comfortable and move easy, just not built to last!**sorry it took me so long to upload pictures. Bought in March and roughly by August they were trash. I use mink oil on ALL my leather and these dried up faster than any other leather boots I’ve owned and are supposed to be waterproof!!**

Cracked and leaked at 4 months.
Very comfortable boot for all day work on my feet. I cleaned these boots and applied leather dressing every weekend. To my disappointment, at the four month mark they develeped a crack at the toe cap and a hole near the toe cap and now leak profusely. I work in extremely wet conditions. They were well waterproofed until now. I would expect a boot at this price point, maintained weekly, to last much longer than four months. Ariat let me down. I expected better from such a well known company in work wear.
