I’m a volunteer Firefighter so I needed this flashlight. It has very good visibility and battery life. It’s very bright and has a great range and quality. It holds up pretty well. This flashlight fits well in the holder on the coat. Has three mods on it and a very good price

This is by far the best light out there for a firefighter. It’s bright last forever and well worth the money. I keep these lights at home for personal use as well you just can’t beat em for the price

Firefighter for two decades and have gone through quite a few flashlights. Started off at a medium sized VFD that had a similar model mounted in the cabs for members to use. That was great because they were free, but still an extra step to make sure to grabbed it in the midst of everything else before you jumped off the engine and got thrown into the chaos. I wanted to get one but hey, they were right there when I needed them. The next 2 VFDs I joined as I moved across the nation were significantly less funded, so naturally neat things like crew flashlights were low on the priority list. Plus, in this new jurisdiction, we were able to respond directly to the scene with our gear in the trunk of our personal cars. Now I really needed a flashlight. My first light was a halogen Streamlight Survivor, an older model that took 4 alkaline batteries and would somehow work great on a new set but magically drain them by the time I needed it a week or two later. I attribute it to the older style design, maybe it was getting turned on pressed up against other stuff in my gear bag, or maybe it just was the way it was. Others had similar issues and the remedy was to carry an extra pack of batteries or do daily checks of personal gear. I got sick of it and just bought an old gulf war style d-cell military right angle flashlight. The army green one, and put a high output mag lite bulb in it. It was heavy, but it worked, barely visible, but it was reliable. I eventually wanted something brighter and snagged a LED Nightstick Intrant. It worked great for a little while, but eventually got wet as they do in fires and broke. I’ll admit, it was never really bright enough for the price and having to cycle through all the modes sucked. Now, I’ve made it to the big games. Got on a career FD, got my paramedic, and got money to spend on my profession. This time I went with a Koehler Brightstar, given all the others have failed or come short. It seemed promising, was made in America, and had a big head with a very crisp, bright spot light. And it failed after its first fire. Sheared the bezel right off the head pulling a line and it was done for that day. We saved the house thankfully, so while driving around in the engine we decided to go back during the day to do an after action review the following shift, and the homeowner was there and had found the bezel in the front yard. Glued it back on, put some new batteries in, and had a light again for a few weeks until it started draining like the old stream light. This light in particular sucked to have to frequently change the batteries in because not only is there a Phillips screw holding the battery door closed, there’s also an awkward battery tray you have to slide and line up perfectly. Plus, the switch became impossible to click with gloved hands. Ended up giving it to the Batt Chief for him to tinker with, he doesn’t wear gear anyways. Then enters the Streamlight Survivor X USB. With all my previous pain and disappointment with just about every brand of right angle light marketed towards fighters, I have in and decided to give Streamlight another shot. The newer design with a more protected power button, a lower profile lamp bezel, and best of all the dual-fuel capability of using a USB-C charger or AA batteries made it seem too good to be true. We always have USB-C chargers at the ready, from iPhones to Samsung to just about every accessory and some of our medical equipment uses it. We have them plugged in walls all over the station and in the trucks. No way I’d never not be able to charge it between shifts. And the same AA batteries I had left over from the failed Koehler and in the engine for the air packs and smoke detectors offered a valuable failsafe. And as a third failsafe, it uses the same battery pack as the rechargeable ones mounted inside the engine cab. Dead batteries are no longer a fear of mine. The updated design seems to address the previous issues and protect the internal components of the light. I’ve had this light for as long as I’ve had any of the others and have ran more calls than I had with any of the others, and it has remained fully functioning. I think I’ve finally found the perfect light that addresses all the previous shortcoming of every other one I’ve used. Keep an eye on these because the prices rise and fall and you can snag them for a good deal. If you’re on the fence, just do it. I finally have the peace of mind knowing I have a functioning light on my coat to help me get through the darkest nights.

This is a really solid upgrade from the gold standard in firefighter individual work lights. It’s lightweight, very functional, and provides great light and visibility, even in smoky conditions. Battery life is great, and it’s easy to recharge with a simple USB connection

工事現場で使用の為に購入。 旧型のサバイバーは単三電池4本仕様でしたが、本製品は単三電池3本仕様となりました。その為（カタログスペック上は）旧型：388g 本製品：337gと軽量になり、明るさも175lu → 250luへとアップしています。 電池パックは誤挿入防止の為に一角のみ大きめの切込みが入っており、正常な位置でした挿入出来ません。底面蓋の留め金がとても固く、ドライバーでこじらなきゃ開かないのか？と思いましたが、底面を押しながらもう一方の手で留め金を操作すると外れます。 それと、どのインターネット上の取説にも記載が無いのですが、点灯させると上部ON/OFFスイッチの真ん中で2,3秒間ほど緑のLEDが光って、電池残量を知らせる構造になっています。電池が消耗するとランプ色はオレンジないしレッドに変わると思うのですが、まだ使い始めたばかりで分かりません。 旧製品のブリックパックと異なり、なかなか素敵な紙箱で届きました。 充電池も付属していますが、当面は単三電池で使用する予定です。紙箱に記載されたスペックでは充電池でも単三電池でも明るさは変わらないみたいです。
