Better than backing sheets from sticky labels.
Just started trying to etch designs into brass. Previously used backing sheets from sticky labels, but without consistent results. They produced small pin holes that allowed small etched holes to appear. Now after my first trial of these PNP sheets, I have achieved the finish that I want.

Opens up new possibilities
I needed a way of reproducing a panel for a camera. My original thoughts were to etch the aluminium with Ferric chloride but I got some black anodised trophy material and used the transfer film as a mask so that I could bleach out the anodising and the effect is very good. It looks very similar to the original factory made panel. I've got a little pixelation going on, only minor and that's the printer running at 1200DPI, or an emulation. I printed onto the film and taped it to the aluminium before running it through an old laminator - about 20 passes. The aluminium surface had been cleaned with soap/water then acetone first. So, how did I end up with shiny, silver text? Make up a weakish solution of sodium hydroxide (caustic soda). Keep moving it in the bath just until the dye comes away, then rinse.

Feuille PnP blue - Bon produit
