It's a very attractive and tidy alternative to having various food wraps knocking around a drawer in our kitchen island ...BUT... Two things: 1) If you have arthritis or any dexterity issues, or just big fingers, reaching into the gap to pull out the film or foil can be a minor challenge. If you are someone who gets stressed in the kitchen this can be disproportionately frustrating during cooking. There may be swearing for which you may need to apologize to your mother in law. 2) There is VERY little wiggle room between the cutting slider and the container, so you have to press the plastic wrap or foil (ESPECIALLY foil) pretty firmly/deeply into the cutting groove before sliding the slider, or the material just gets pushed, not cut, and bunches up and is ruined. If the cutter rode maybe just a millimeter higher, it might work a bit smoother - as it is, you just have to stop and focus a bit and make sure you prep the material. So, if you tend to be in a hurry, or are the type to get flustered in the kitchen, or just resent when things meant to make life easier feel like they're just adding effort instead, this may not be the purchase for you. But it looks fancy. UPDATE: Customer service reached out to offer a replacement or refund, which was really appreciated. And like I said, the object is functioning as designed -- it is just a little more fussy/fiddly than some folx (my husband) are comfortable with. The organizer is sturdy and attractive and obviously, they have good customer service - so - take that into account! :)

I have it 3 stars because the slide cutter leaves much to be desired. I expected to pull out the foil to my desired length, slide the cutter and go on about my business. But no, after several attempts with both foil and wax, sadly I have to hold the paper a lil taunt in place because the razor on the slider isn't sharp enough to cut on it's on without assistance. Now I'm searching to buy replacement slide cutters which involves spending more money on something that was supposed to be a solution to a problem. Not a problem in exchange for a problem. It's great for solving my organizing needs but the functionality of it doesn't work.

Parchment paper,stretch & seal doesn't fit.

It's very light weight. I ran into a problem with replacement same size tubes. I did find them, but within the first replacement rolls the size changed. I went to a different store. You have to hang it. you can't use this dispenser on a counter. The Aluminum roller takes some practice cutting.
