Off Grid Tools Survival Axe – Black, All Steel, Ultimate Outdoor Multipurpose Tool, Hatchet Blade, Hammer Head & Claw, Changeable Saw, Steel Glass Breaker, Seat Belt Cutter

This is a great little tool out of the box, but a few simple improvements made it even better. First I used a course stone to get rid of the powder coat on the blade, then sharpened the blade. The handle was a bit too slippery, so I used a rasp to rough it up and give it some grip. As others have reported, the saw blade tries to pop open when you're using the axe to chop, so I added a few ranger bands to prevent that from happening. I also wrapped a bit of #18 bank line around the neck just because. Finally, the nylon sheath that came with this is beyond terrible, I tore it apart with my hands and made a functional one out of some scrap leather. I'm planning on upgrading the saw blade, it looks like the might be enough space to slide a spare blade into the handle, and it'd be super secure with all of those ranger bands. The smallest socket hole on the blade functions as a bit holder, but the bits just fall out, so I'm planning on gluing a tiny button magnet into the hole so the bits stay in. One issue I can't resolve is that the sharp edge of the hammer/claw is in the perfect place to cut up your wrist when you're trying to use the saw. Other than that it's perfect out of the box!

I got this for a bug out bag, to go along with other axes that I've bought for the same purpose (good to have more than just one bug out bag, or even a EDC bag). It seems to be very well built, can be used for any number of tasks as a Jack-of-all-trades implement. Sure there are other tools that might do a specific task better, but when there's limited space to utilize, this is a like a Swiss Army Knife for its compact profile. In addition, it comes with a pretty good protective sheath as well. Bottom line.....no complaints. A good investment

this is the second tool I have bought the first was a huge disappointment. the first 1 i got was the made in the USA it cost 20 buck more but I'm all for supporting our economy. got the ax and the quality and finish were terrible but I didnt want to return it. so I took it to the belt sander and spent 2 hours to put a straight sharp bevel on it and clean up all the other imperfections. the first nail I hit with the hammer side the hammer broke in half. who ever made that ax should be ashamed to put made in the USA on it, it was the quality I would have expected from the china made 1. fast forward to now I got the china made ax and it came with perfect bevels straight and uniform all the way around took minimum sharpening to get a nice edge all the finish work is perfect its much better than the made in USA product and thats sad not to mention its 20 bucks less so save a few buck and buy made in china in this case (that hurts to say)

This isn't a bad multi tool. It's sturdy, has a nice heft too it and the various tools are generally useful. The biggest complaint I have with it is that the axe blade is pretty dull as shipped, I tried it out on a camping trip and was unable to hack through 3" diameter mesquite with it, I think some time with a sharpening stone could cure that. The saw blade is a good idea, but doesn't really work as well as you would hope. The rest of the tools are nice, and the balance is good, it's comfortable to hold and use.

This survival axe has good weight to it. Tested it the first day on some small trees I needed to clear out. Worked great even before sharpening it. Can be used as a throw axe at short distance and proper technique. I also bought it because it was made in the USA not China. Backs up for self-defense.

This will go great in the trunk of the bike or under the seat in the truck. It seems to be a very versatile tool,, it did need sharpening on receipt

Pretty useful, my fiancee said I would need it but I've had more use for it in the past couples days. She admitted it was actually useful. Handle isn't bad but it works with the way it's built.
