Great supplementfor aging brains to stay sharp and clear
This is a great supplement for aging brains which causes an increase in short-term memory and clarity. Highly recommended!

Good combo with ginkgo or other nootropics
I'm happy with this so far. I've used vinpocetine and ginkgo together previously, and been happy with some additional help with focus. There aren't many vinpocetine options on Amazon, but this one was reputable and priced right, so I'm giving it a try. I typically take 2 tabs daily, along with ginkgo and feel like my memory is a bit sharper. I think one key to supplements like this is to use them consistently for a while, as they aren't going to elicit drug like effects immediately like an ADD drug. The supplements also don't make you feel "altered" like a prescription medication, so that part is definitely positive. Overall I rate this as a good buy. It's a flexible dose, for those who don't want a large dose. I've read some reviews of 30mg vinpocetine that some users did not react well to the large, single dose, so this allows you to pick how much you want at a time and to spread out the dose throughout the day.

I've been taking it for a month now and I notice when I don't take it.
I'm 53 and it need to stay alert and on the ball. I started with taking 2 a day but I wanted to see if taking a little bit more so I started taking 3 a day and that is the perfect stop for me. It clears all the fog and I'm on the track for the day. The drop off is pretty sharp so if I take it at 7am and I take 3 the drop off is around 5pm and I'm not drained just slowed down. I have not taken another 3 after 5pm because I like to sleep around 10 am. Good Luck out there.

Atypically for brain supplements, this has a detectable effect
and it's an interesting one. I am taking vinpocetine in order to increase blood flow to the brain area, and also as a potential aid for focus. I didn't know what to expect, so about thirty days ago I started on just one tablet, once a day in the morning. I fast three days a week, M-W-F, and I usually avoid caffeine at least a couple days a week as well. I do not have ADHD or ADD but I do have a mental condition which can make focusing difficult. This supplement has what I would describe as a moderate "grounding" effect. It's like it anchors my mental activity, reducing random thoughts and tangents. It's easier to focus as a result. The most conspicuous effect is that I can attend to tasks easier, and the usual impulse which causes me to procrastinate or turn my attention away from a task in front of me is quieted. I thought it might be a placebo effect - though it was strong enough to make me doubt this - so I tried two in the morning, and the effect was strengthened throughout the day. Two might be a bit much for me - I found that it made the work day fly by. If I had a clear set of tasks to attend to, I worked on them steadily and without issue, but if I didn't I'd get caught up reading something even if not-exactly-work-related. I've discontinued to the two per day and am back on one now. The closest supplement I've tried has been Adrafinil, but that was more effective - basically caffeine without the jitter. This blunts things a bit, so you don't have the same clarity and quickness of thought. Caffeine seems to counter the effect of vinpocetine to some degree; I'd recommend avoiding pairing the two, at least during an initial test. There is some similarity to some of the effects of Bupropion, which I haven't taken in more than a year. The effects I've described are only from my own experience, there's no guarantee it will affect anyone else the same way. My primary concern is that it does seem to slow down some mental processes, or make me less mentally active in general. It may affect memory, short term or long, I'm not sure. For something like this, I wouldn't make a recommendation for or against it, since everyone's situation is different. EDIT: After trying one tablet a day for fifty days, I've decided to discontinue use, at least for now. I felt like it was affecting my memory, and suppressed general mental activity to too great a degree. I'm tapering it off at 0.5 tabs for the next ten days, then I'll spend some time without it and see how I feel in comparison. If I see a return of that "impulse to procrastinate" maybe I'll try taking one or two on a particular day and see how it compares with a control day.

Great product
I am a fan of vinpocetine generally--what it can do for brain health (recovery from TBI, for example). These Life Extension tablets are great products priced well. They are small and easy to swallow. I am satisfied with them overall.

Backfired
This was an unmitigated disaster. Really angry at the horrible headache it caused. Now I own an entire bottle minus one pill. Supplements can be like medicine so always check side effects and never expect a miracle. No matter how much you think you need this, YOU DO NOT!
