Great 12 Volt set but how does it compare?
Milwaukee shaved quite a bit off the length of the 2504-20 hammer drill compared to the 2404-20. We measured 6-9/16″ down from 7-3/4″. That’s a 1-3/16″ reduction in length! The way they did it was to redesign the brushless motor assembly so they could inline the mode switch and clutch into the twist ring. They also moved the cooling fins to the very rear of the driver. All of this works together to save space. For weight, Milwaukee dropped 2.4 ounces. That may not sound like much, but it matters over the long haul, particularly if you’re working above eye level or doing repetitive tasks. Updated Milwaukee M12 FUEL Impact Driver vs 2453-20 Looking at the nose of the new Milwaukee 2553-20 impact driver, you can see how the impact mechanism and chuck are set further back towards the brushless motor. The fact that Milwaukee did this while increasing torque by 100 inch-pounds testifies to the apparent soundness of the design. The 0.9” reduction in length also makes for a much smaller footprint on the new FUEL impact driver. Since Milwaukee re-centered the mass, it still feels quite comfortable in the hand. While the space-savings on the Milwaukee 2553-20 impact driver is significant, Milwaukee didn’t stop there. They also added a 4-mode drive control which offers a bit more flexibility in speed and torque control. In addition to having three speeds, the Milwaukee 2553-20 impact driver also adds a Self-Tapping Screw Mode. In this mode, the tool will drive at full RPM until the impact mechanism is engaged. Then the tool slows down the RPMs to allow for better control as you drive the screw the rest of the way in. It’s designed for fastening metal so you don’t sheer the head off by driving too fast. Milwaukee opted to keep the same raked angle on both their M12 FUEL impact driver and brushless FUEL hammer drill. That means your grip won’t change, and the balance—which we already felt was good—remained excellent. The new M12 tools ship with either one or both Milwaukee RedLithium 2.0 or RedLithium 4.0 XC battery packs. Build Quality The build quality of these new tools is excellent as far as we can tell. Within the stator on the Milwaukee 2553-20 and new 2504-20 hammer drill, for example, you can find a large 7-point star-driveshaft which moves the gear assembly. All of the PCBAs (printed circuit board assemblies) are securely nestled into the glass-reinforced nylon body. That includes the main board and selector switch assembly. Having experienced more than one assembly line where products like this are made, the wiring assemblies and “trap” locations seemed intelligently-placed to keep them from moving parts. The tool seems like it can take some drops and keep running. The housing cover alone uses seven 16mm T-10 Torx screws. Milwaukee M12 FUEL Impact Driver and Drill Specs Compared To give you a quick side-by-side on specs, here are the differences between the new tools: 2404-20 2504-20 2453-20 2553-20 Torque 350 in-lbs 350 in-lbs 1,200 in-lbs 1,300 in-lbs Speed (Low) 0-450 0-450 0-1,200 0-1,300 Speed (Med) – – – – – – 0-2,400 Speed (High) 0-1,700 0-1,700 0-2,650 0-3,300 BPM/IPM (Max) 25,500 25,500 3,550 4,000 Length 7-3/4 in. 6-9/16 in. 6 in. 5.1 in. Weight (no battery) 2 lbs 8 oz 2 lbs 5.6 oz 1 lb 14 oz 1 lb 12 oz What About the Milwaukee 2503-20 M12 FUEL Drill? Interestingly, the Milwaukee 2503-20 drill comes with the exact same specs and size as the 2504-20 hammer drill—just without the hammer function. Since the mode switch integrates into the clutch mechanism, you don’t shave any more length off the tool. Milwaukee M12 FUEL Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Performance Performance matters. Carrying around 12V tools as your “everyday carry” only works of those same tools can get the job done. These can. We put both M12 hammer drills into our torque testers and measured the following: Milwaukee 2504-20 Max “hard stop” torque: 27.1 ft-lbs (325.2 in-lbs) Milwaukee 2404-20 Max “hard stop” torque: 26.0 ft-lbs (312.0 in-lbs) While our numbers didn’t perfectly match those of Milwaukee, the fact is—we’ve got a different setup than they do. It’s also in flux as we build a more permanent and robust testing apparatus. Needless to say, both drills are within 4% of each other and within 7% of the manufacturer’s claims. Our next test told us a bit more.

great kit
Great kit, great tools, great price. After some research I chose the M12 fuel as the best cordless power tools for my needs. After using the tools for over a week, I can say that both tools have more then enough power for all odd jobs around the hose, and even for the more demanding jobs. all that in a compact and well priced package. The bag in which the tools come in is very durable and practical. One negative aspect of the drill is that it is a bit off axis, noting too bad, considering the price point .The other disadvantage I found using the tools is that the base of the trigger can become a pressure point. Delivered to Israel in 7 days.Note that the price dose not include Israeli tax, customs and handling fees, which stack up to additional 283 NIS. I modified the charger to work on 220 V ac after watching a video on youtube. nothing to complicated. So far it works just fine. I am over the roof from this order!! I defiantly recommend the deal!!

Protect your investments
Great guns. The 2760 in the middle is not included but unfortunately it was the only picture i had at the time. Great tools so far, tbh i need a bit more time with them for a more thorough review. So far the only negative i find is the drill. For some reason i feel as if it just doesn't have the juice i need for a drill. Just a bit more "umph" and the job would take a little less time. Or maybe it's me. I haven't used the drill in a long time untill i got these. The impact driver is light and the batteries it came with are perfect. They never die on me. I added a peelable protective coating on to hopefully help protect the serial and casing from any oils, scratches and to make my tools stick out a bit in a busy shop. I think they came out like i wanted them to. And definitely do what you can to take care of the batteries.. that's where most of you milwaukee money will go when getting into their tool line. Not because of replacing but just buying them for your bsre tools in general are expensive.

Genuine Milwaukee Tools at a great price!
The drill and impact are great! Batteries last very long. Drill is great quality with a good chuck, a mechanical 2 speed gearbox (not electronic so you actually get more torque in low range), and it has a hammer setting. I think the clutch on the drill is electronic, but I can't see any downside to this yet. I mostly use the impact day to day. I'm an auto mechanic, and it works very well. Plenty of break-away power. I shopped around for a good deal on an impact for a while, was a little apprehensive because this price seemed too good to be true. These are genuine Milwaukee tools though, and come with everything (2 batteries, 2 tools, a charger, and a bag).

Best decision
Really glad I decided to go 12v to get smaller and more compact tools and the Fuel line makes them beasts. I can pull out my 12Vs and outperform all but the highest end 18v tools. Not a professional so can't speak to longevity or worksite durability, they feel very well built though. Ergonomics, the 12v systems with the battery that goes into the grip is very nice in that it makes the whole package smaller, however it does make the grip quite thick. I wear a size L or XL in gloves and don't have an issue, but if you have smaller hands or have a preference for a thinner grip, I would recommend going to Home Depot and holding them to see if it works, small hands could be a struggle. Battery life is stupid, using impact on setting 2 (out of 3) and driving 2x4's into each other with 2" screws for a couple hours only took 1 bar away on the battery. The Fuel line really astounds me at the level of battery life they are capable of. 100% would recommend, worth the premium if you are someone that likes to fix everything that goes wrong with their house, the extra power really is amazing coming from a budget green set. Will update this review if anything changes, looking to have these the rest of my life as things stand now though.

Compact workhorse driver and weak drill
I am a cabinet maker for the last 35 years and my tools make me cash and I expect them to last many years especially at todays cost. Now this little impact driver is the bees knees for my shop. Mode 1 is perfect for those real tiny screws and hinges that you need a delicate touch and not strip out, mode 2 is good for driving those screws putting boxes together and mode 3 "when needed" will get the job done driving into those ancient historic timbers. Small and compact works great in those tight places. Now the drill I would not purchase again but I am sure it has its place. Honestly it just doesnt have the moxey to really do the job on concrete. Works great to drill in wood but I could do with out the hammer feature for that. This drill is just so so at drilling anything over a 2 in hole saw, it will choke up then again its not going to rip your wrist off. Not a bad product but if your doing concrete or bigger hole saws just get the M18 and stop playing around, just be prepared to hold on. Now the bag is a different story, it is beautiful, awesome embroidery unfortunately the zipper is junk and failed not a month in careful usage. Honestly for the cost of the products these should come with a PACKOUT ready hard case IMHO. I still have the original 18V milwaukee ever made and its starting to smoke so I guess that will be my next purchase.

Love these!
I have been using this kit for a few months now. I mainly bought this for the impact driver and the larger battery that came with the drill. I like that the drill is smaller and fits more easily in my bag with less weight than my 18 and 20 volt drill. It works great for smaller jobs where a few holes are needed. But if you are going to be using it for a sustained a period of time, you will need extra batteries. I mainly keep it in my bag for quick jobs, but I still find myself going for a 18V drill for more taxing jobs. The impact is as good as I expected. There are multiple speeds to use, but I find myself keeping in the higher speed and just modulating the speed/torque with the travel of the trigger. The power is great and breaks fasteners loose with little trouble other than breaking seized bolts. I also love how fast the 12 volt stuff charges. With one tool and an extra battery on the charger, you can get through most jobs. The battery is usually finished charging by the time I expend all of the power from the battery in the tool.

Bought it but I got wrong item
As you can see from the title of the product says Milwaukee 2598-22, I got delivered 3497-22 which got me surprised and confused also got me thinking did I get a good deal or a bad one? Great tool, used the impact driver which was my first time using an impact driver, I was delighted and satisfied of the power stored in this small compact v12 machine. I still didn't try the hammer drill As if the time writing this review but I'm sure it'll not disappoint me. Thank you Lady bug.
