Epic Improvement
I am brand new to VR. I went to a VR adventures place with some friends and we were all sweating and huffing by the end of the game and I realized VR is a pretty fun way to be active. So I bought a META3 and I read the reviews of people not really loving the default headstrap. Being the perfectionist that I am, I started researching lots of headstrap upgrades for the META3. I finally decided on this one and I have to say I have zero disappointments. Is it 100% perfect? No. And I'll tell you what few nitpicky things I wish it did better. But first, the good. The GOOD * MASSIVE improvement over the original headstrap. The top strap combined with more weight on the back does an almost magical job of making the whole headset feel lighter on your face and require less effort to turn your head left or right, up or down. * The rear adjustment wheel. I love that thing!! Makes it SO easy for anyone in my family to easily slide the headset on, lower the back till it sits comfortably near the base of your skull, and then turn the wheel to tighten the whole thing up till it fits snug and comfy. * Installation. I'm a perfectionist and I do read instruction books and watch videos to make sure I am not messing anything up. But installation is mostly a snap. Two minor hiccups I'll cover later, but overall, I still would say installation is good. Also, a lot of videos show the user taking the faceplate off to install. If you are like me and that makes you nervous, rest assured, you do NOT need to take the faceplate off. This strap installs just fine without having to take anything apart on your META3. * PRICE. I saw headstraps that were MUCH more expensive than this, so I was a little hesitant, because usually the saying is true, you get what you pay for. In this case, you're just making off like you stole it! Price is very affordable especially compared to other "elite" headstraps that cost much more and have poorer customer reviews. The NEUTRAL * The battery pack. To be honest, I haven't used it. I like the idea that it comes with an additional battery to let you keep gaming longer, but the reviews talk about a loud buzzing if you are trying to charge it while playing. And the tech specs show that you won't even get the full advertised 2 hrs out it, probably closer to 1 - 1.5 hrs. Still, that's better than nothing, and putting the battery on the back is easy and magnetically snaps on, you can literally do it with your eyes covered. If the buzzing bothers you, there are workarounds I saw online. End of the day, if your priority in getting a new headstrap is longer battery life, there are probably better battery solutions out there from different headstraps and neck batteries. But as a free add-on to a more comfortable headstrap and gaming experience, it's a nice little bonus. The WISH IT WERE BETTER * Installation. I know I know, I said installation was good. But there is ONE step in the process that was a kind of a pain to me. The short velcro strap that attaches to the forehead part of the facemask can be tricky to thread into the new headstrap. If you look online people will share what worked for them. And here some people do say taking the eyeplate off the mask does make it easier. I wouldn't know since I didn't want to take that off my mask. Some people recommend using tweezers or other fine instruments. Its tricky, not gonna lie. But just get creative, or even try taking the faceplate off. It's doable, trust me! * Parts. The box comes with two gel pads that are not mentioned or addressed in any of the instructions and most of the online videos I looked up. I'll save you the trouble and confusion. The gel pads are alternate pads to the velcro sort of foam-leather pads that come with the headstrap. You can remove the foam-leather pads and put on the gel pads if you like the feel of that better. I personally didn't like it better so for me, the headstrap was perfect right out of the box. But it would be nice if the instructions mentioned it so you're not left wondering if you missed a step somewhere. So yeah. The good to me far outweighs any of "the bad" on this headstrap. Can't speak to whether it'll hold up well over time or not, but I've been using it for a couple weeks now and I'm a very happy camper. It stays on me snugly for everything from passively watching immersive videos sitting down to actively boxing and ducking and weaving in the Supernatural fitness app. Incredibly comfortable to wear, very well priced, and hands down an improvement over the original headstrap. Highly recommended!

Demolishes headaches!
THE PERFECT PRODUCT?? OK, right to the PROS list... PROS - Built for comfort by resting ON TOP of your head, and then securing laterally - That SNAP of the battery magnetically leaping into its cradle is SO SATISFYING - Audible battery tones - The rear head cradle is just right at any angle - PERFECT for wearing eyeglasses: bend rear up 90°, insert face, lower rear into place. - Battery has bright and prominent indicator lights CONS - Whan inserted, the battery does not automatically turn on and I sometimes forget to press the button. I highly recommend this or other BOBOVR headsets that take the weight off your face and put it on top of the head. SUGGESTIONS: When using a USB Link cable, I suggest 3D printing a cable restraint clip, as pictured in my photo. It would be great to have one packaged with the M3. I also printed a cable manager that magnets into the battery port - it's great and more convenient than the clip. WARNING! When removing the factory strap from your Quest, DO NOT PULL THE ARMS laterally away from the headset - they will break off! Instead, use a twisting motion. This is not directly related to this product, just a general warning.

Comfortable, easy to instal, much better than what Meta sends with their unit
This headset is extremely comfortable, at least for me. I could and have worn this for hours with zero pain, and to be honest, sometimes wearing even a baseball cap for extended periods I find somewhat annoying. I watched a you tube video so I knew exactly how to install it (tons out there), took maybe three minutes to set up. The battery pack works, but the issue which has nothing to do with the battery or this head set is that Quest three has horrible battery life. You almost have to look at the unit as a wired product, that if you want to run for any period of time, you need to charge it via wire. That being said, the battery works, and will keep the unit at least at a level above zero battery for a bit. And when its charging I didnt notice any sound as other have mentioned, but following a you tubers advice, I only pop on the battery (super easy, just a magnet securely keeps it in place) when the Quest battery is super low, as lithium charging is less difficult for battery charging and unit accepting the charge when quest battery is low rather than highly charged.

Well-built, but not for me
The BOBOVR M3 is something that's basically impossible to avoid hearing about if you hang around any Quest-related community for long, regularly hailed as being both extremely comfortable and being the best battery strap with hot swappable batteries. What I don't think gets mentioned enough, though, is that halo straps (straps that suspend the headset from a ring that goes around your head, instead of strapping the headset itself to your head) are pretty hotly debated in themselves. Some people swear by them, some people hate them, and it all seems to come down to things like head shape and game preference. For me personally, I couldn't stand this thing. The problem with halo straps is that while yes, it is extremely comfortable, the reason it's so comfortable is because the headset is only partially secured into place. The only thing keeping the headset from wobbling slightly every time you move your head too quickly are those two little arms in the front, so if your head doesn't fit right with those it can feel annoying fast. The strap itself is secure, and it never felt like it was going to fly off or anything, but the headset never felt stable during head motion the way I'm used to from traditional straps. It comes with a webbed silicone pad for the back that you can swap out, but as someone with lots of long hair for it to grab onto that only really made it less comfortable, and not really that much more stable anyways. The reason this is still 4 stars is because it is still a sturdy and well-made strap regardless, and for the people who do like this kind of design I can see why it's the reigning champ. I also do really like the ease of popping the battery on and off, and really wish it was on a more elite-style strap. It feels very high quality, and at less than half the price of Meta's own battery strap, but my own search for my ideal headstrap unfortunately won't stop here.

Beats meta's strap easily!
I recently purchased the BOBOVR M3 Pro Battery Pack Head Strap for my Meta Quest 3, and it has significantly enhanced my VR experience. Here are my thoughts on this product: Pros: Extended Playtime: The integrated battery pack extends the playtime of the Meta Quest 3 significantly. I can now enjoy longer sessions without worrying about running out of battery. Comfortable Design: The head strap is designed to reduce facial stress and distribute weight evenly across my head. It’s much more comfortable compared to the standard strap, especially during extended use. Magnetic Charging: The magnetic charging feature is incredibly convenient. It allows for easy attachment and detachment of the battery pack, making the recharging process hassle-free. Secure Fit: The adjustable strap ensures a secure and snug fit. It holds the headset firmly in place, even during more vigorous VR activities. Quality Materials: The materials used in the head strap are high-quality and durable. It feels sturdy and well-made, giving me confidence in its longevity. Improved Balance: The added weight from the battery pack at the back helps balance the headset better, reducing pressure on my face and improving overall comfort. Cons: Initial Setup: The initial setup took a bit of time to get the perfect fit, but once adjusted, it worked flawlessly. Weight: While the battery pack adds some weight, it’s balanced well, so it doesn’t feel heavy during use. However, it might take a bit of getting used to if you’re accustomed to a lighter setup. Overall, the BOBOVR M3 Pro Battery Pack Head Strap is a fantastic accessory for the Meta Quest 3. It enhances comfort, extends playtime, and provides a secure fit, making my VR sessions more enjoyable. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade their VR experience with added comfort and battery life.

Great replacement headset
If you purchase a Meta Quest and value comfort, an upgraded head strap is a must. Having a head strap with an attachable battery pack is an excellent bonus. The battery adds about one to two extra hours of playtime, and the indicator lights make it easy to see how much power is left. It attaches securely to the back of the headset, and you simply plug in the power cord to get a few more hours of use. My children and I find the head strap easy to adjust and very comfortable for extended sessions. We have also had friends try it, and while some have mentioned that there are other replacement head straps that are slightly more comfortable, no one has said this one is bad. It’s also worth noting that the more comfortable options they mentioned cost about twice as much.

Helpful tips to get the most of of the M3
I bought this for my Quest 3 even though I read some reviews about the battery making noise, battery dying very quickly, and not keeping the headset actually fully charged. I can say I have experienced all of these and there are ways to reducing the negatives and get a better experience with this. I have also bought the M2 Plus combo with charging base and 2 batteries and the same for the Pico 4 just so I can have spare batteries and the ability to charge 4 batteries at once since there are some game sessions I can play for 8-12 hours straight (simulation driving/racing/flying) and don't want to fiddle around with hooking up a charging cable to my headset while I wait for the batter(y/ies) to charge. Onto how to control the issues. Battery drains really quick: This one and the headset not staying charged while battery is attached fall under almost the same category of causes, but I'll keep them separate. So the B2 batteries can put out a max of 15w of power, but the Quest 3 when it is at 100% usage could pull a total of 18w of power. So trying to use less power will get you better battery life out of the B2. Turning off 120hz refresh rate, turning the brightness down, and limiting passthrough usage will help get the longest battery life. If you calculate it out, the B2 has 26 Wh of power, and the battery saying the max output it can do it 15w means that you should get roughly 1.75 hours of battery life out of the B2, but I have seen a battery drain in about an hour and my average is about 1.5 hours of battery life out of each one, so I think it is capable of putting out more than the 15w it says it can. When it does drain down faster, it does get warmer. Headset battery doesn't stay full when using B2: This is to be expected if the headset is working at 100% load. Since the headset can use 18w (have seen people say, and I can verify, it can pull a total of 23w when plugged into a charger/battery pack) and the battery pack only being able to supply 15w of power, the headset will need to use some of its own battery to provide enough power when under a heavy load. With my above suggestions for extending the battery life, I have done all of those except turn down the brightness, and when streaming games from my computer with Virtual Desktop at 90hz to the headset, after using 2 B2 batteries, my headset is at about 80-86% battery when the 2nd B2 beeps when it is drained. I usually don't see the headset go below 80% battery level when using the 3rd battery or 4th battery, but if you work the headset hard enough and long enough with a bunch of B2 batteries, it could eventually drain the headset all the way down to almost empty. Battery making noise: I notice that my batteries make some what of a noise (like coil whine from a GPU under heavy load) when I am playing games directly from the headset, but if you have the volume up to about 75% or more, the game drowns out the buzzing. When I am using Virtual Desktop to stream games from my computer, every once in awhile I hear the slightest buzz from the battery, but if I'm not paying attention to it, I forget it is even there. Also as soon as you start playing anything from the speakers, it instantly over powers the noise of the buzz. When not in any apps and just using the menu of the Quest 3, I don't hear any buzzing at all from the B2 since I think the headset isn't pulling enough juice from it to cause the noise. Overall, I am very happy with my M3 head strap. It is much more comfortable the then original head strap and even the elite head strap since it takes the pressure off the front of your face and moves it to your forehead. Like I said above, I love it so much that I bought the M2 Plus bundle and the Pico 4 bundle just to get the batteries and chargers. I gave the M2 to a buddy who has the Quest 2 and the Pico 4 I just have sitting aside doing nothing, just so I can have 2 charging stands and a total of 5 batteries (1 with M3, 2 with M2 bundle, and 2 with Pico 4 bundle) and everything in the end being cheaper than buying the batteries and charging stand on their own. EDIT: just putting the edit here and not changing anything above. It ended up costing me $10 more total to buy the 2 extra head strap bundles than to buy the chargers and batteries separately, but with how much of a backorder everything is with BOBOVR right now, I was willing to pay the $10 extra to get what I wanted in 2 days instead of 2 to 4+ weeks.

A Must-Have Upgrade for Meta Quest 3 Users!
A Must-Have Upgrade for Meta Quest 3 Users! I recently purchased the BOBOVR M3 Pro Battery Pack Head Strap for my Meta Quest 3, and I couldn't be happier with the upgrade. This accessory has transformed my VR experience in the best way possible. Pros: First off, the comfort level is fantastic! The default headstrap for the Quest 3 was okay, but the BOBOVR M3 Pro takes it to another level. I've noticed that I can comfortably play for much longer sessions without any discomfort or fatigue. The multiple adjustment options are a game-changer, especially the clicking wheel mechanism at the back, which allows for a snug and secure fit every time. The included battery is another major plus. It almost doubles the playtime compared to the stock battery, which means fewer interruptions and more immersive gaming sessions. The magnetic battery swap design is brilliant, making it super easy to switch batteries without any hassle. Cons: My only minor gripe is with the USB-C cable that connects the battery to the headset. It's a bit longer than necessary, but it's not a deal-breaker. It still works great and doesn't interfere too much with the overall experience. Overall, if you're looking to enhance your Meta Quest 3 experience, the BOBOVR M3 Pro Battery Pack Head Strap is a must-have accessory. It offers fantastic comfort, extended playtime, and an easy-to-use design. Highly recommended!
