I work as a Detention Officer in a Mental Health Unit where we have Inmates who sometimes tie sheets, trash bags, towels and other things around their necks in a suicide attempt. I have used this tool to cut as said items many times and the tool, straight out of the packaging, is really sharp. The Gerber Strap Cutter has not failed me once and I keep it on my duty belt for easy access. It's small enough to carry on my side to where it's not easily accessible to Inmate. Another way I have used this tool is to cut off Inmate clothes and it has not snagged up when cutting. I highly recommend this Strap Cutter for anyone who works in the same environment as I do.

Perfect for law enforcement officers

Bought this as a gift, so I never physically saw it myself. My mother has been talking about it for a while, and this was something on her Amazon wish list; she driver a Jeep Gladiator, goes to Moab, and other off-roading events. So, she was just wanting this as a safety thing. She stated she loved it, and it was exactly what she wanted. Hopefully she won't ever have to use it though. Not going to lie, bought her the Gray because it was the cheapest. She never complained about the color herself, she actually likes it. BUT, was honest with her about it. Then stated; "hey, at least the Gray will pop out in the Black interior, so you won't worry about missing it when anything happens." Which, she agreed.

If I had been just a little bit less careful I would have taken off a chunk of my finger testing the edge. This is very sharp. It could absolutely cut a seatbelt. Got it as a strap cutter for a plate carrier. I think it could handle that job just fine. The sheath has a belt clip that is super hard to attach. I managed but it was a pain. The malice clip is easy to figure out, but I didn’t use it. I’m not 100% convinced the sheath will retain the cutter. It’s a friction fit and it’s not very tight. I’m thinking of taking a heat gun and reshaping it a little. -1 star for the sheath but the cutter is superb

Just what I needed for a safety line cutter knife for kiteboarding. The sheath is snug enough, but I used some electrical tape to make sure it doesn't slip out accidentally.

More than great

Super scharf. Sehr klein, um es am Plattenträger „verdeckt“ zu tragen. Mit Handschuhen auf Grund der Größe nicht so gut handelbar. Es empfiehlt sich, eine Sicherungsleine/GearKeeper zu befestigen. Holster/Scheide Erfüllt seine Zweck, könnte aber besser sein.
