The tripod adapter fits right into where the front screw that holds the two tubes together. Once installed, I leave the adapter on permanently so I can use the binocular without mounting on a tripod for general viewing, and only mount the binocular on the tripod when viewing the stars at night. In summary, this simple solution does work, and work every well.
