Buy Claymore, Vol. 10: The Battle of the North: Volume 10 First Edition by Yagi, Norihiro (ISBN: 9781421511825) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: The Battle in the North begins - This tenth volume of Claymore sees the first skirmish between the warrior women and an army of Awakened Beings. During the battle secrets are reviled and friendships made as the battle lines are drawn. Raki also finds himself in the north, in the company of new friends and desires to get stronger so he can stand beside Clare. This is a good volume of Claymore with some good, if hard to follow in places, battles and also had some nice dialogue between the characters. Raki's subplot is somewhat predictable but should prove to be interesting nonetheless. The volume leaves things in a very good position that should keep you interested in continuing reading. Review: The story intensifies - Wow, can the series get any more interesting? Secrets are being revealed and constructs in the world of the story start to wobble and crumble. Little by little so to tease the reader to stay glued to the story. Also the action is cool and while the villains are certainly extremely powerful it still seems natural - a rare situation in these kind of action packed stories. I love it.

Well not really, it actually picks up at the last chapter in this volume (Siege of Pieta Part I). The anime diverges from the manga at episode 21. To be honest, if you really like the Claymore universe, I'd stop watching the anime at episode 20 (I guess you could go and watch it for posterity's sake) and starting read the manga at this volume. This volume continues with the Siege of the North, where the Claymores fight the Awakened scouting party and ends with the introduction of Rigaldo, the Silver King. Lots of intense fighting, but there were moments of nice character development during the rest times, especially with Deneve/Undine and Clare/Flora. Reviewed on Amazon Kindle App for Windows 8.1.

This is a great series that my husband and I both love. I had to return some because he already had some but these came in great condition and were exactly what I expected. I can't wait for the next book to come out!

While this volume was a little harder to follow, it leads to significant world and plot developments being fleshed out while continuing the tradition of long fights with incredibly twisty monsters and few characters having plot armor. Yagi's investment in the organization and the various awakened beings, and in Peita's battle does start to show significant world-building. It can still be hard to differentiate some of the side characters through character-design but the art remains impressive despite that.
