I don’t know anything about ESR, but I can say that this iPad case is awesome. Admittedly, it’s heavy (bought the 12.9”, so weight might be different for smaller versions); but that’s only if you keep the back on all the time. It’s very sturdy, has magnets in all the right places, and basically takes care of every concern you might ever have about your iPad. This is one of the few products I’m excited to use every time. A few details: 1. The grooves where the case props itself up are deep and magnetic, and the feet that go into them are sturdy, so this is one of the few cases like this that will never slip shut while you’re trying to work. 2. The tolerances are tight. The iPad fits snugly (might have to squeeze it in the first time you put it on), and the case feels like a second skin afterwards, whether the back is on or not. 3. The magnets are strong! Even though the back is technically separate, it never feels like a separate piece. Still feels like a solid slab when you carry it all together. 4. You can use it hard in any position. Like I said, the magnets are strong, and even the two maneuverable flaps are solid.
