Is there a right side to use with different clubs? I've seen golfers use smooth side with irons and tufted side with woods is that right?

Hi there, yes you can use both sides of the mat. For fairway shots you can use either side and for Tee shots it is recommended the smooth side. The smooth side has a recess, where you can either hit directly off the mat or insert a tee peg.
