Zefal Swan Road Bicycle Fender (Black, Rear)

I bought Zefal's fender as replacement for old fender I had on my road bike. The old fender (while also made for road bikes) was a bit too short, and would keep rotating slightly out of alignement while riding. Both resulting in my back getting wet on rainy days. I had a chance to try out new Zefal's fender on wet roads today. It worked very well, keeping my back completely dry. The seat post on my bike is V-shaped towards the back, and the attachment on this fender is shaped the same, preventing the fender from rotating. I had to remove rubber insert so that it fits around seat tube nicely (being V-shaped, the seat tube on my bike is bigger than classic circular seat tubes). The fender is just the right length and shape for road bike. It was trivial to install and adjust it.

I was looking for a removable fender for my road bike for the times when the conditions needed it as I do tend to ride some rail trails and gravel along with roads. I came across this and it's great as it's easy to set up and remove with the screw down clamp. It's also light and sturdy and long enough to cover the rear wheel sufficiently to keep your backside clean. The only minor downside is that my bike has a D shaped seatpost which it's not designed for as it is for a round post. Therefore it's a little more difficult to keep the fender aligned properly over the rear wheel but not a big deal and as long as it's tight it shouldn't shift very frequently.

I forget it's back there, sturdy plastic, light, might even make me ride faster >;)

I was worried at first that this product would not fit over my rear frame tube, but it went on easily. You may have to back off the nut assembly entirely, loop the mounting section over your tube, then squeeze together and thread the nut. The fender doesn't move or snap into a new position when riding, and does a good job of keeping moisture / road debris off of my back / hind end. Hello sport look, good bye skunk tail!!

I was looking for something thin -something that wouldn't look ridiculous and overbearing on a road bike. Also wanted something light, and easy to take with you, to avoid giving it away for free. This is definitely it! Works as advertised in terms of stopping rain and mud. Tightens around my CF seat post with no shims in a matter of seconds and wiggles very little, if any, because it's so light. The parts are plastic, so I'm sure it's possible to break the mounting mechanism but this isn't your average type of plastic, it's more rigid and strong. You can use a hex key to modify the angle of the fender, a nice customizing touch. Plus, the screw/cap on the mechanism has a reflective ring around it for high visibility/safety. Would definitely recommend!

I installed this fender to my commuter bike and it has made a huge difference to my wet weather rides. The installation takes seconds and can easily be put on or taken off if you think it looks dorky. I think it looks great if you tuck it low with the wheel, but that may be just me. A full fender would do a better job at keeping your feet and ankles dry, but this road fender does an excellent job keeping your back, butt, and thighs dry.

I use this on long trail rides when there may be some muddy conditions. Quickly goes on and off the bike. (I didn't leave it on when I was carrying the bike on the back of the car.) *** Since this attaches to the tube that holds up your seat, it requires free space on that tube. If your seat is in the lowest possible position, you won't have room for this device. If your seat is fairly low, you may have to move or remove a rear reflector (and/or saddle bag) to make room for this. I'm 6'2", so was able to make this work by removing my rear reflector, and putting a tail light on the back of my saddle bag. My bike has disc brakes. If you have have rim brakes, they may increase the amount of space needed for this device (?).

This arrived fast with prime. Came in good size box so no issues. The instructions were straight forward and easy to follow and installed in a few minutes (see pic). I live in a rainy state so this came in handy the first day. Totally blocked water from rooster tailing and getting me wet. Im totally happy with this product. Id give it six stars if I could. High recommended.

I wanted something that I can easily attach and this fits the criteria though narrow it shielded my back from 99% of the dirt my roadbike was spitting on me. Very efficient.

Works well and not too bulky like some others.

I bought this fender for my Aventon ebike. I was going to with OM parts but they don't ship to Canada. A lot of fenders look cheap and ugly. I did not want one that would distract from the beauty of the bike. This one was easy to install, looks great and does what it is supposed to.
