## Description

Bilstein B8 5100 shock absorbers are designed as a direct fit solution for lifted trucks and SUV's. These shock absorbers feature a monotube design which provides consistent fade free performance. B8 5100 shock absorbers utilize a unique, velocity sensitive, digressive piston which reacts to changing road conditions. All B8 5100 shock absorbers are tuned for each specific application to assure optimal performance is achieved. B8 5100 shock absorbers offer a significant improvement in ride quality, handling, and comfort.

Review: I live in Northern Canada and drive gravel roads and highways 90% of the time. As for installation this is by far one of the more challening top ends to mount with little room for hands but can be accomplished from the rear wheel wells. You will need an allen key to hold the top end of the mount and I do recommend a ratcheding boxed end 17mm wrench. After installing these shocks I immediately hit the roads intentionally aiming at every pothole at 35-50 km/hr. Compared to the OEM toyota shocks i see a big difference in ride quality. The shocks absorbed the potholes not feeling like they were bottoming out or bouncing. This is my initial review and will check back later to give another after highway speed loaded and empty testing. Thanks The Shock absorbers continue to hold up however the rubber boot did not survive the cold harsh winter. Thanks

**Q: Will this lift my tundra 2002?**
A: No, you will need springs, shackles or blocks to do that.

A: Hi Yes this are for 2002 Toyota tundra rear wheel drive.
They work very nice. They are 3 time's bigger then the shock that come on the truck..
They have a lot better piston in them..  Hope this help you .. Ps. I had 200 pound in the back of my  2002 Toyota tundra and with these new  shock  you do not know that the 200 pound even  was in back of the truck..

**Q: Installed new coil/strut assemblies in the front which slightly raised the vehicle. Should the Bilstein shock slightly raise the vehicle in the front?**
A: There is a chance your old coil springs were sagging. In that case, you may not be getting a lift, but returning to factory stance instead. The springs hold up the vehicle, so if they are new getting a bit more height wouldn’t surprise me. If springs are the old ones, look at how the coil is seated and make sure the spring end is settled into the right place. Look at top and bottom placement of the spring and don’t forget to check out a manual for correct placement.

**Q: Does this fit 96 toyota runner 4x4?**
A: this shock can fit a 96 4runner, IF you change out the bottom bushing to fit the larger 4runner shock mount and you have longer springs and you get longer bump stops.
