Useful also for tripod mounting / Alternative adhesive tip
I've used this mount for several years. I use it on my bike from time to time, but I mostly use if for mounting my phone to a Celestron tripod adapter, for still and astrophotography. All that was necessary was to drill through the center of the mount and tap it for the adapter threads. Works great. Tip on transferring it to another phone case - they don't sell replacement adhesive pads, and the 3M pad that comes with it is OK, but as others have noted it requires a smooth surface to attach to, and some care in the surface preparation. I bought a roll of 1" Gorilla Tape double-sided padded tape from the local Ace Hardware. Easy to cut to fit the mount, and it's a way better adhesive than the 3M. Works on textured cases without sanding. I take a 3 lb dumbbell and apply pressure to the mount for 24 hr before using. Your case will break before the adhesive fails. Only caveat is that it's so good at holding, it can be very difficult to remove when moving to another case.

Great product.
This is high quality and very sturdy. The weak link for this is the disc mount, which breaks easily on really bumpy rides.

Would buy again.
EDIT: Almost a year now and ordering a new one for the new phone case. It held up amazingly well and is still holding strong with no sign of failure. Don't try to stick the tape to a rubberized finish or silicone and you'll be good The case I ordered had a kind of rubberized coating, made sure that was sanded down and clean then attached the KOM adapter. Works perfectly, strong adhesive isn't going anywhere, firm fit in the Garmin Out front mount. Been out for a few rides (road only so far) and it holds. Paired my phone with a Wahoo speed and Cadence sensor, out front mount with phone up top and Garmin Virb under. Perfect setup for me. A well made phone case and a little common sense when using this adapter and you'll be good. Keep in mind it's a strong adhesive but not many adhesives like rubberized coating or silicone.

How to use it with Garmin mount on H36 Handlebar
If you're thinking about buying this adapter, you're probably trying to figure out how to mount your iPhone on your bike. One option is an integrated mount which affixes to your handlebar. I purchased one on Amazon for another bike and it worked fine. (OMOTON Bike Phone Mount Holder - Anti-Shake Phone Holder Mount for Bike Motorcycle Handlebar, 360° Rotation Bicycle Phone Clamp Fit iPhone 14 Plus/14/13 Pro Max, Galaxy and 4.7"-7.1" Smart Phones) However, if you have a nice handlebar with an underbar mount, then it's more complicated. In my case, I have a road bike with an H36 handlebar with an underbar mount. This pairs well with the the Road Bike Handlebar Computer Mount, Bike Computer Mount Integrated Handlebar Compatible with H11/H36 (the 'Mount') available here on Amazon and shown on the photo attached. The KOM Cycling Garmin Edge Universal Cell Phone Mount Adapter pairs flawlessly with the Mount above. So these two items can work together. However, the adhesive on the KOM adapter did not stick to my phone case, which is of a rubbery type, also from Amazon. My phone went flying on a rough patch of road. (My case is the Cordking Silicone Ultra Slim Shockproof Protective Phone Case with [Soft Anti-Scratch Microfiber Lining], 6.1 inch) To fix the problem, I cut a hole in my case as shown on the photos above. The adapter is attached to the phone, and the case holds the adapter in place. This makes the whole package slimmer, but still connects perfectly with the mount. The final photo shows how the phone looks mounted. The case, mount and adapter will cost you about $50 in total. Well worth it. Of course, you end up with a sacrificial phone case, which I will replace when I stop riding outdoors as the weather cools. No big deal. Should you use a power meter (Amazon has plenty of them), check out the Cadence App, as it is the only one I know which shows power.

Incredible unit and adhesive... IF APPLIED CORRECTLY!
Nearly impossible to pull the tape off if properly applied. (Which is great.) After a mountain biking accident that broke my old phone, I wanted to apply this mount to a 'newer' one. It took some work and patience to pull it off of my phone cover. I'd read some reviews where users complained about the adhesion. Having worked with tapes and adhesives in my career I understood that prep is everything. Follow a few simple steps, and this unit will never accidentally come off. -Make sure the surface is smooth and clean. I was originally applying to an old textured phone case, so I sanded it smooth where I was going to apply the mount. This should only be necessary if what you're mounting to is really textured, with grooves, etc that won't allow enough surface contact. I cleaned with soap and water, then wiped with an alcohol pad to make sure it was 100% clean and dry. -Apply the mount and firmly press in place to remove any bubbles. -Wait 24 hours before using. Most people overlook this step. Adhesives (and tapes) need some time to set-up and cure before you apply a load to them. This may all sound like a bit of overkill, but even when my phone broke and snapped off my other mount, this one was undamaged and never even loosened. It worked exactly as expected.

Very satisfied
It works extremely well and is very secure, but there are several steps one must take to make sure one has a happy experience with this product. First of all I bought a TORRAS Slim Fit Hard Plastic Phone Cover Case. It provides a smooth and sturdy surface to which attach the adapter. Second I had to make sure that my phone clears the handlebar when it is turned to release. I also wanted to make sure that my phone is pointing straight when it is locked into position. Since you only have one chance to attach the adapter to phone case, little preparation helps. I made a template out of cardboard that has the same width as my phone case. The template a hole in a middle for attaching the adapter. The template can be attached to the phone case with a couple of rubber bands or zip ties. The critical point is that the template protrude from the bottom of phone case by a distance equal to a distance from the axis of rotation to the lower corner of the case minus the distance from the axis of rotation to the lower edge of the case, plus few millimeters (1/4 inch) for extra clearance. Once the template is attached to the phone case, lock adapter into Garmin bracket and remove adhesive cover. Attach phone case to the adhesive tape making sure that the bottom of template is flush with handlebar. I then tightened a c-clamp making sure it is centered on Garmin bracket and left it overnight. It works like a charm now.

Adhesive does not hold
I had purchased cheaper options of these, but my phone kept coming loose. I opted to pay a bit more for the KOM, since it had 3M adhesive. Unfortunately I got the same result...my phone popped off the garmin mount and landed in the street after 3 rides. Waste of $15.

Buen material

Awesome Mount
Looked a long time for something like this. I bought an inexpensive phone case (which haa a solid back, it will not work well if it's rubber and likely will not work at all if it's silicone), peeled the adhesive off and pressed it centered on the back of the case. It really holds solid, no problem holding the phone on for indoor training or outdoor rides...strongly recommend ( price seems to fluctuate wildly, don't pay too much).
