Although I didn't notice that issue with mine, I did notice a huge lack of precision with this product. I also noticed it wasn't optical, but used old-school X and Y rollers to move the cursor, which eventually get dirty causing a loss of precision. Since I had purchased it with gaming in mind, and couldn't tolerate this precision issue, I junked it and went with a competing product. I have to hold onto my hand with the other hand to make it sit still - sometimes. I am 5'1" tall with small hands. I got this mouse 2 days ago and have used it until today. I have to use 2 hands to make it work. The ball fits in the palm of my hand but I have to use the other hand to press a button to drag anything. Maybe that is the way it is supposed to work, but it is extremely annoying. It is fine if I am just surfing, but if I want to purchase anything online, I need both hands to navigate. I think my hands are just too small and my patience too slim for this to work for me.
