The bits still look great after 15 or so holes
I got this to cut a series of 2" holes through 1/8" tough steel plate, using a handheld power drill in an awkward location. It took a while to cut (using plenty of cutting oil and going slowly) but made consistent, clean holes time after time. The bits still look great after 15 or so holes. The pilot drill cuts quickly (although I found it was even faster if I first drilled a 1/8" guide hole). The rim that keeps the bit from punching all the way through the hole is *genius* - makes it way easier to finish the cut, because you don't have to worry about the bit plunging through and damaging whatever's behind your hole. My only complaint is that the spring that ejects the blank is pretty strong, and you're pushing against it the whole time in order to hold the bit against the cut, which is extra work.

Very nice set
So you're looking at these thinking if it's worth the money. Well it depends. I've used multiple different sets over the years. This set is very nice and works beautiful. The Ideal set I had, it was nice and worked beautiful. So what makes this better? I find the overall price. With this set you can replace each individual piece. Making for a cheaper replacement. As with the Ideal set you have to buy the whole piece making it cost more. So if you're manly having a carbide cutter for occasional use I'd lean towards a cheap set but a full time commercial/industrial electrician I'd say get it. The bigger sizes of the carbide hole saws or any hole saw really, seem to go slow and be very hard on the drill. I'd say after 2" go for the slug buster.

Amazing, cuts stainless like butter
I have been struggling with cutting holes in stainless steel sheet metal and kegs until I purchased this set, works better than I could imagie. Have only used in a drill press but have cut around 20 holes with the 2" cutter and it continues to preform well. I use slowest speed, some marvel mystery oil for cutting lube and lots of down pressure, Sometines the cutter will catch near the end of the cut. I assume my technique needs improvement. It's an awesome hole saw set. The pro - the hole saw is a shallow cutter, great for electrical enclosures, the con - the hole saw is a shallow cutter, not perfect for cutting into the sidewall of pipe or pipe notching.

Well worth it.

Works very well. The springs don't like to stay on the bit very well.

Best carbide holesaw kit in the industry
OK, any 1/2way decent electrician either knows or figures out shortly after using Greenlee’s interchangeable holesaw kits: Dollar for dollar this kit -lasts longer (compare to ideal); -is 1/2 as light in your tool bag as the competition; -Is a serious industrial grade knockout tool. Amazon wasn’t able to deliver the standard 1/2”-1 1/2” kit that I originally ordered on time. This 1/2”-2” kit with (2) arbors next day was Amazons solution, delivered the day after the original was due! Thank you Amazon and this kit is hands down, the best in the industry, period.

Great carbide cutters
These are good like the quick change and that you can buy the individual pieces on their own if you lose one or one wears out. Makes quick work knocking holes in panels and j boxes. Use cutting lube and you will get more life out of them. A little pricey but worth it if you do alot of conduit.
