Two pillows. Two reviews.
Btw, I see this situation a lot when reading reviews. Customers seem to leave reviews on items that are not the listing I am looking at. I've even researched & found that this is generally something to do with Amazon's sorting of items rather than the fault of the customer or review. That is why I'm taking the time to point this out. I just went in to review my 2nd purchase of this Sobakawa Cloud Pillow & found the review that I had made on an entirely different pillow than the Sobakawa Cloud. So - I'm attempting to clear the air. I LOVE THE SOBAKAWA CLOUD PILLOW ! This is the second one I've purchased in a few months. It is very soft, yet holds my head stable all night long. I use it for many positions, back & side sleeping as well as propping my arms. I only wish it was offered in either a full or queen size because this little pillow is just that - little. it works, though. Now - to set the record straight: below is a review I left for a pillow that is called & advertised as 'The Best Pillow In The World'. I paid a LOT of money for these pillows, & as I describe in the body of the review, I've bought multiple pillows from them because the first one was very nice. So, here's the review for those pillows, which is entirely different from the pictured SOBAKAWA CLOUD PILLOW above. When I first received this item, I loved it. I'd purchased a lot of bead pillows from another manufacturer a couple of years ago & was very pleased with it. These pillows are grey & oddly shaped, filled with microbes. I recently spent some time with my 92 yr old dad 2000+ miles away from where I live & decided to buy a couple more to have when I'm there. Somewhere along the trip - was it the altitude of travel? - the pillow I'd had for yrs & took along just flattened out. it was really weird. So I decided to try to find another alternative because I'd originally loved this type of pillow. Thus, this purchase. As I said, when it first arrived, I loved it. Not only did it hold my head in place all night - it was much softer than the other ones I'd purchased. So much more comfortable. But sadly for me - it's beginning to kind of flatten out already. It's only been a couple of months. I don't know what it is about these pillows - is it the type of textile used to contain the beads? I've always used the pillow cases that are sometimes sold separately but came with this purchase. It's a real disappointment for me because these pillows are like none I've ever used in the past. They are totally supportive on each side of my face & hold my head in place so well that I barely move around. I'm keeping this pillow & even contemplating purchasing another one - perhaps this first was just a fluke. However - the beads also began to clump together in areas inside & I could not get them to break down (as another reviewer had written concerning the same issue & had been told by the seller that the clumps would dissipate & to massage them. Well. The did not dissipate & couldn't be massaged out. So, while the pillows are still very comfortable, it is losing the support factor that makes them so appealing to me. As I said - mixed feelings.

THIS IS A GREAT PILLOW
I have had my first Sobakawa cloud pillow for well over 15 years now and it is still doing it's job of comfort. I just bought a new one to well just have on hand because I don't ever want to be without one. Sorry for the bad reviews it's getting. I am and always have been a side sleeper and this helps so much with neck and shoulder pain. I fall asleep fast and wake up with no pain. For the price doubters should give it a try.

Incredible Comfort
I'm writing this the morning after receiving my Sobakawa Cloud Pillow from Amazon. One night was all I needed for this review. Like everyone, I think of my bedroom as a sanctuary from the world's stress and that's why I want it to be as comfortable and soothing as possible. I've suffered from head/neck/back pain for years from sleeping on pillows that lost their shape way too soon and went flat on me. Before last night, I slept on a combination of a regular pillow, a body pillow (which was wrapped around the reg. pillow), and a huge European-style square pillow to top everything off. In a nutshell, neither that elaborate setup or the many pillows that came before it gave me even one fraction of the PEACE that the Sobakawa gave me in one night of testing. It cradles my head and neck perfectly, and it keeps my spine aligned when I shift during the night. The micro-beads move when you move in order to provide proper cushioning at all times. At the risk of sounding too "New Age," the Sobakawa Cloud Pillow gave a level of comfort that was almost like being back in the womb. My first night's sleep with this pillow was truly the best I've had in years, and when I had to wake up in the middle of the night to *cough cough*, all I could think of was how much I wanted to go back to bed! :O) I've noticed a lot of complaints elsewhere on Amazon about this pillow's size, firmness, and the noise of the micro-beads. Yes, the pillow is slightly smaller than the standard bed pillow, but in my opinion it more than pulls its weight on the job. I admit that I was surprised and disappointed about the size when I first opened the box (because I was used to big luxury pillows), but I changed my mind very quickly once I used the Sobakawa. Appearances can be deceiving. What looks like a "dinky travel pillow" to some, turns out to be a great sleep investment for others (namely me). Another complaint is that the pillow is too hard/too noisy. I did not experience these problems. The micro-beads crinkle a little when you move, but not enough to seriously disturb the person or wake him/her up. As for the hardness, if you love ultra-soft down pillows and others of that type, then the Sobakawa Cloud Pillow would probably be too experimental for you to try. The way others have described this pillow, you'd think the reviews were written by "The Princess & The Pea." The Sobakawa is NOT a glorified brick, and its micro-beads didn't stab me to death in my sleep. Instead, they gave me the support I needed after years of pain that came from using those royal, ultra-soft pillows. To each his/her own. One last thing about this product that struck me as funny: The tag that comes with the pillow & case set has a bunch of underlined warnings on it, saying that the pillowcase must ONLY be used with the SOBAKAWA PILLOW! Only the PILLOWCASE can be washed! One must NEVER get the Sobakawa pillow WET! The only things missing on this way too serious tag were the words, "Or else!" I suspect that wetting the pillow would ruin the micro-beads, but would it kill them to actually explain that instead of screaming "Don't do it"? Or does the pillow turn into a gremlin when wet? I call dibs on Gizmo! LOL

Good pillow, cheap pillowcase
I am enjoying the pillow for sleeping! I wake up without a stiff neck and it feels like it gives me right support for my neck. I only complaint is the pillowcase. When i put the pillow inside, the clasp fell off & I cannot get it to reattach so I have to put the pillow (with the broken pillowcase) inside another pillowcase. Too much a hassle to return, would have loved it to work, but will still enjoy the actual pillow.

BUY THIS ONE! ORIGINAL PILLOW!
This is the original Sobakawa cloud pillow with micro beads and a pillowcase. Do not be fooled by any other! I purchased one that was $10 more that showed the picture and said it was this original pillow and when I opened the packaging, it was a buckwheat pillow. I got it refunded and purchased this one. Just got it today and it’s the same as two others that I’ve purchased over the years. I love this pillow, it’s a perfect size for me. I use it when I sleep on my side, I hold onto it so it keeps my arm in a good position to sleep. It’s also great to put behind your head on top of your regular pillow to watch TV. This is not a full size pillow so if you want a full-size pillow, then this is not for you. So comfortable and soft! Highly recommend.

This is It!!
I bought one of these microbead pillows years ago, and I believe it was under the name the"Tony Little pillow". He was some celebrity exercise trainer or something like that, and he had put his name to it. I've bought way too many pillows trying to find the comfort level that this pillow brings, but haven't been able to find anything that compares. When I saw this "Cloud pillow", I figured I may as well give it a try. When it arrived I was so excited because it looks just like my old pillow. The proof was in the pudding when I slept on it that first night. Success!! No more neck pain nor arms and hands tingling from "falling asleep". It came with its own little pillow case, which was nice. It holds its shape well, especially enclosed in the case. My head is supported perfectly as the microbeads conform to my head and neck, even when I shift positions or roll over. I will say, the fabric covering the microbeads will eventually stretch and the pillow will flatten out over time. It will take a lot of use though before that happens. Using a traditional pillowcase -which is larger- and folding under the extra helps it to sort of maintain some shape. This just comes naturally from normal weight bearing of the head and the stretchiness of the fabric. The fabric has to be stretchy so that the microbeads can shift in support of the head easily. I'm thrilled to finally find a pillow like the one I've had all these years! I'll probably buy more just to have on hand for the future.

Don't be fooled, this IS the "As Seen on TV" pillow
Well, I haven't tried sleeping on it yet, but since this particular product was titled "Natures Pillows" I assumed it was different than the "As Seen on TV" Sobakawa pillow and that "Sobakawa" was a generic term for this type of pillow. Well, no. It arrived today with a sheet of paper indicating it is the "As Seen on TV" pillow and I guess "Sobakawa" is, in fact, a registered trademark of "Natures Pillows." Gotta say I was disappointed and felt pretty stupid to boot. Interestingly, this product description says 20 million microbeads and the other Sobakawa pillow's description says 10 million. As the products are the exact same dimension, I am pretty sure this one is not 20 million. However, I was a bit confused by some previous reviewers saying the pillow was overstuffed and others saying it was under stuffed... Perhaps that's where the 10 or 20 million actually comes into play... Maybe there actually are some pillows out there will 20 million stuffed in them. The one I received does not seem overstuffed by any means (guess I got the 10 million version!). The pillow is 12.6" x 18.5" x 3.15" and did come with a pillow case, but yeah, it looks pretty small. There is a little bit of an odd smell to it, so I will let it air out a few days then I will give it a try. If I like it (or hate it) I will update my review. I wanted to get this review up so that if anyone else out there thinks this is different than the "As Seen on TV" kind due to the different name on the product title, they will know better (unlike me!). UPDATE: 2/10/14 Make sure to wash the pillow case before using the pillow too. I think that is where a lot of the odd smell comes from. After I washed the pillowcase and put it on the pillow, it smelled fine. Also, I tried putting on a standard pillowcase in addition to the pillowcase that comes with it and that is a mistake. The pillow is just too small and then you don't know how to properly position it for when you are sleeping. That first night I woke up the next day with a stiff neck and a headache. The second night I used it without the standard pillow case on it and that worked better though my neck was still a little stiff the next day. Third night it just wasn't working for me and I switched to my regular pillow during the night. Not sure if I will get used to it or not. It has a pleasant feel in general and I don't find it too noisy as some reviewers have mentioned. I guess the small size is an issue for me though. Overall it is not the "miracle pillow" I had hoped for and I probably would not buy it again.

Good for just barely long enough to tempt you to buy another
I got this after spine surgery on my neck due to extreme difficulty getting comfortable enough to sleep. I am a side sleeper and cannot sleep on my back without being in a zero G position with good support all around my head - and this isn’t quite capable of that, but has allowed me to sleep on my side. That said, it’s definitely not perfect. For the first several weeks, it was less adjustable as the pillow casing needed to stretch out before it was possible to really shove the beads around, making it hard to have it support my neck and keep my skull in place while having a large enough indent to level out my head. Additionally, it would twist inside the outer pillowcase and need to be put back into place before it was usable. Now it has trouble providing a lot of support in more than a single area - and the only if the casing is compressed in a way that prevents the beads from escaping. While at first I could have a very firm support on both sides of a deeply indented area - but had some trouble creating an indent large enough for my skull - now it doesn’t seem to have quite enough beads to create that firmer support unless it’s all on one side of the pillow. That said, it is worlds better than the 7 pillows I already owned and the only reason I’ve been sleeping the last 5 months. So it’s far from perfect but it is MUCH better for someone who is very sensitive to position than even a good memory foam pillow. Update: I have now been sleeping on this pillow every night for 4 months. And both the pillow itself and the cover it came with are stretched out enough that they are basically twice the size of when it arrived with the same amount of beads. So it started out as an overly firm pillow that needed to be stretched out before it could be really molded to the head and neck is now no more supportive than the down pillow I had slept on for 20 years at the end of those 20 years. It is very flexible, but will not provide support unless you compress it further and thereby stretch out the casing even more. Nor does there seem - so far - to be a point at which the material stops stretching out. I am really, not sure what the outer cover was for because initially the pillow would just twist inside of it and end up weirdly shaped probably adding to how quickly it stretched, and now it just sits there and I suppose allows for easier cleaning but I never liked the texture so I’ve been using a pillowcase on top of it the whole time. The only reason this is still a two star review is there was about two months during which this was a fantastic pillow. But two months really isn’t worth spending a month breaking it in because that would mean every three months I was spending $30 to have an uncomfortable pillow over a month and then a comfortable one for two and then throw it all away. The materials are not environmentally friendly, since they all seem to amount to some form of plastic. Which would be less of an issue if it was going to be a pillow for the long-term, where you bought it once and then used it for years?. But with a three month half-life for usefulness, it really is not worth it from my point of view. So as of right now, this pillow is a representation to me of the worst part of planned obsolescence. It lasts just long enough to make you seriously consider buying another one. It genuinely sucks to have to say or experience this, because as you can see from the above review, For a little bit there, this was an amazingly great pillow for somebody as a hard time getting comfortable to sleep. Now it feels more like it was a tease, rather than a real benefit. I glimpsed a beautiful place where sleep wasn’t a fight to find a position that doesn’t hurt - but turns out it was a mirage in the desert.

Highly recommend
Some years ago I bought 2 Airgrip pillows which I found extremely good to support my neck with one and under my knee with the other. Recently my husband needed some help for his neck and I gave him one of my pillows (he has been quite ill and is disabled). Since having this pillow he won't give it back!!! Not finding Airgrip I bought 2 Sobakawa pillows and I haven't been disappointed. Although quite expensive in relation to other pillows, they are well worth the extra. I have an adjustable bed so, with the back raised to the level I want, this is the ONLY pillow I need for support. I can easily adjust this pillow to where I need comfort and support.

Cervicales joyeuses
