Do you want to learn an SEO strategy that works? SEO where you can build authoritative links that will catapult you to the top of the SERPs without risk of a Google slap or penalty? Pure White-Hat SEO strategy where you can sleep at night AND build traffic-busting websites. In 2017, how many SEOs can offer that type of search engine optimization? This book can! Google is on the SEO warpath. Anyone caught breaking the rules or trying to manipulate rankings through aggressive SEO techniques, will find their website dropping out of the top 10, top 100, or out of the search results altogether. Common SEO techniques can now kill your rankings! Google released a whole menagerie of animals (Panda, Penguin, Pigeon, etc), but also employs humans to rate your content. You cannot fly under the radar any more. Gone are the days of fast rankings with SEO loopholes. Today, SEO can be dangerous if you follow the wrong advice. Most free online SEO advice is very wrong because it's either out of date, or written by someone that doesn't do it for a living. I've been testing for over a decade and making a living with SEO. SEO 2017 & Beyond is a book that will teach you the safe, white-hat search engine optimization strategies I personally use to get my web pages (and those of my clients) to rank high in Google. This is battle-tested, white hat SEO that I've learned, developed and tested over the last decade. On-site optimization techniques that I was teaching my newsletter readers back in 2008, is only now becoming mainstream in SEO. I play by Google's rules, meaning I never have to wake up after a major update and wonder if my sites have been hit. I am always looking forward and asking myself what Google wants, and how I can deliver. With so many algorithm changes taking place at Google, you might be wondering how it is possible to stay up to date with all the changes. The good news is that it is easy once you acquire the right mindset. Understand what Google is trying to do, and give it to them. This book teaches you that type of search engine optimization. You will not find any strategies to beat the system. You will not find any loopholes to beat Google. You WILL find solid strategies, solutions & advice to create great content and build high authority links and domain authority. You won't be learning any black hat SEO backlinking techniques. These would only serve to get your site penalized. I only want to teach you a "future-proofed" strategy. You'll learn the truth about anchor text links and why everything changed when Penguin was released. You'll also learn what makes a backlink valuable in Google's eye, and what makes a backlink spammy. I'll tell you about the Holy Grail of backlinks, and how to get them for your site. They take more work, but a few of these links are priceless when it comes to ranking. You'll also learn why it is important to focus on building your site authority. I'll go through some of the older backlinking techniques and mention any that still have value. Most don't. The good news is you don't need to use those techniques. I'll show you how the high domain authority sites build natural, high impact links. This book is now in it's 6th major edition - SEO 2017. In it, you also get the comprehensive SEO Checklist (the same checklist that is available as a standalone book on desertcart). Use it to find and fix SEO problems on your site, and reverse Google penalties. SEO 2017 & Beyond was written by search engine veteran Andy Williams of ezSEONews.com. He has been teaching this stuff since 2003, in his free weekly newsletter. If you want to understand what the search engines want, and learn modern search engine optimization that gets higher rankings through great content and smart backlinking, explode your traffic AND have Google's blessing, then you should read this book. Review: Very concentrated book that answers many questions - I have recently bought this book because one of my marketing colleagues highly recommended this author. His book is trully filled with valuable content and it is written in an easy to understand way(which helps for someone who is aware of the terms but still needs to understand the complex SEO strategies). It is also a collection of the previous book content gathered since 2011 if I remember correctly so it is more than a great purchase for this value. Highly recommend! Review: My favourite of many read on the - My favourite of many read on the, obviously somewhat boring, subject. White Hat all the way: Create great content; optimise correctly (given the hundreds - if not thousands!- of potential algorithmic penalties & penalisation's) and rank well. Obvious, I know; but keeping up to date on googles latest algorithm embroideries isn't! I'm studying these algorithms with the University of California's most adavanced course (an Ivy League college), and there isn't much I've learnt there, that isn't in this book if you follow the links and extra recourses found in it.

Packed with sensible advice on how to improve your SEO in a Google friendly way.
This is a very good book about search engine optimisation and the importance of following Google's guidelines both to the letter and to their spirit. The author tells how SEO used to be easy in the good old days before the Panda and Penguin crackdowns because someone in the know could take the steps needed to get onto the first page of Google with relative ease and with effort get into the top spots for all but the most popular phrases. Things are different now because Google has moved away from focusing so much on optimising around specific keyword phrases and towards optimising around themes. It has tried to understand the intent behind the search and then deliver quality website pages that are consistent with that intent. Personally from my experience as a searcher, I think Google has gone too far or hasn't refined its algorithms far enough. I'm making too many searches that leave me wondering why its serving up particular pages that don't appear relevant because there's no mention of my search phrase in the title tag or the snippet of text shown. Perhaps I'm just bitter as I did well under the old rules. Here are the reasons why I haven't given the book five stars: 1) There is a bias towards information sites in the advice with little consideration for SEO for pages selling products and services. 2) Most small businesses don't want to rank nationally but do want to rank for local searches and their issues aren't considered. 3) The book is written for people in the SEO profession or enthusiastic amateurs who have plenty of time on their hands to write content rich information guides for their own website and on others. 4) There is a danger that the book will get out of date very quickly. The author will update in a year's time. 5) The book adds content to earlier versions although it has added in some meaty contents about SEO checklists on the various topics. 6) The book doesn't link into the connection between SEO and pay per click with Google Adwords. While I have sympathy with the idea that Google has connected keywords into themes to discover the intent, my Adwords experience suggests it's not that effective or consistent. Let me give you an example. I provide business advice to small businesses and use Adwords to send traffic to a landing page. It ranks the match between keyword and landing page through something called a Quality Score. Strangely when I look at my campaign, my quality score for "business advisor" is better than for "business advice" but "small business advice" scores better than "small business advisor" while "advice for business owners" is significantly better than "advice for small business". This time Google has two sets of customers (users and advertisers) and it should be even more determined to serve up the best, most appropriate results. The final reason for not giving the book five stars is the fact that the new reality of Google (for the last four years and counting) is that they don't want you to be able to manipulate the search results. As anything is revealed to work consistently to boost rankings, the algorithm will be changed to stop it. SEO has become a bit of a fool's errand unless you're building a tightly focused, large authority website or you have a purely local business. Even then, there is a danger that a tactic, that looks perfectly legitimate today, will become frowned upon in the future. About my book reviews - My goal is to help you to find the best business advice. I aim to be a tough reviewer because the main cost of a book is not the money to buy it but the time needed to read it and absorb the key messages. 4 stars means this is a good to very good book. I will respond to any comment you make about my review. Paul Simister, business coach

5 Stars - I wish I'd read this a year ago!
If you’re new to SEO, or even if you’ve been involved in SEO for several years like me, this book by Andy Williams should be your ‘go to’ reference bible for ranking high in the SERP’s. It is a must read. I wish I had read this over a year ago, because after losing rankings on a couple of sites, partly due to Google algorithm updates, I am slowly but positively boosting them back thanks to this book. The SEO checklist’s and ‘how to recover your site’ sections that you can read in this book, are priceless if you value your web property in the search engines.

Authoritative and inexpensive
This is the best book I have encountered on the subject. It is thorough, well-written and practical. It can be repetitive at times, but that might be intentional, to reinforce key points from various angles. And it is keenly priced. I'll buy the next edition too.

Great book
This book is great, gives a history of how Google changed the games with SEO and how to make your website adhere to the rules to make it appear in Google search results. I found it very easy to read and went through it all in a few days. Looking forward to the 2018 version!

Good content in not so good structure
Andy has plenty of ideas and insights that I haven't seen in other SEO books. I found it valuable. On the other hand, the book is repeating itself a lot.

need to learn good, and we might say current
We are brand new to SEO and starting a new travel blog. We've created a WordPress site and have had a steep learning curve since the beginning. We wish to monetize our site, and as a result, need to learn good, and we might say current, habits from the get go to have a chance at success. Andy Williams books, this was our second of three so far, have all been exceptional. He provides current information with a prescient's view of the future from his decade as an SEO WordPress expert. It shows. We absolutely recommend this book. After wading through all the trash out there, it was refreshing and educational, finally, to find information of this quality. Andy is not in this for a quick buck, like so many are. Look at his list of books and updates, and realize that he has been here, helping all of us, for some time. We received this book as one of Andy's promotions. It was on our 'next-book-to-buy' list, as at the time we were reading his WordPress book. We got lucky getting this book gratis. Our payment for his freely offered book is this personal promotion.

Consigliatissimo!

I recommend this course for anyone who wants to rank and live in peace with every kind of black & white Google creature
I have subscribed to Andrew Williams newsletter for a very long time, and he and his resources are one of the first that i look into. Andy start talking about semantic SEO in time, when everyone talks about keyword stuffing. Anydy SEO books and courses are no fluf and straight to point. This book is loaded with important information, easy to follow and with plenty of examples that aid understanding, and is a must for anyone who wants to build a robust and successful website. Andy gave a lot of practical tips and examples on how to improve your ranking. As wel as, do's and don'ts. Be sure that he knows what he's talking about. But beware everyone looking for get richquick: he only talks about White Hat methods ;) He can rank youre site without grey and black stuff, so youre ranking will live in peace with every kind of black & white creature from Google Zoo.
