Perfect soil for my tropical plants
I repotted several of my tropical houseplants with this blend Soil and I’m really happy with how they’re responding. The mix feels light and airy, yet still holds enough moisture so the roots don’t dry out too fast. It drains beautifully too no soggy soil after watering. I’ve noticed greener leaves and more vigorous growth since switching to this mix. It’s convenient because it’s ready to use straight out of the bag and saves me the hassle of blending multiple components myself. Great soil for anything tropical!

Bought twice, new blend is great
Sorry for the long review. The tldr is old blend wasn’t great for me, but there’s not telling if that was my fault or because of the climate where I live or what. New blend (lava rock + pumice instead of coarse river sand) is working out really well for me though. So I bought this twice and ended up getting both the old blend and the new blend. The first time was the old blend with the pine bark fines, coarse River sand and calcined clay. I planned to use it for five jacarandas and five Royal poincianas. All of the plants were fairly small but not really why I would call seedling size anymore. I used it mostly for the poincianas and only two of the jacarandas. It’s worked okay for the two Jacarandas, they’re still alive and I haven’t changed the substrate. I let them dry out all the way one time and it was a pain to get it to absorb water again. And while they look healthy, they’ve grown much slower than the other three that have been in another bonsai mix. For the Royal Poincianas, it just seemed like it was staying way too moist and I could not figure out the right time to water. I ended up ordering it a second time by accident. I meant to get the conifer blend for some pines and wasn’t paying attention lol. However, I was planning on doing some up potting on the poincianas anyway, plus to be fair, Royal Poincianas are know to be temperamental trees. I’m pretty inexperienced so I didn’t want to assume it was the blend’s fault and because of this inexperience, I was also curious about what these would grow best in. So I put one of them into the new blend that uses lava rock and pumice rather than the coarse river sand… its working out so much better than the old. Maybe it’s because there’s a smaller ratio of the calcined clay and pine bark fines, rather than the lava rock and pumice, I don’t really know, but it definitely drains much better and doesn’t stay wet for anywhere near as long as the old. I’m definitely planning on using the remainder of what I have will order again in the future.

Worth the money, get it for your bonsai.
I know you can make your own but I didn't want to go through the hassle. This was the listed type of soil for the specific bonsai I have and it is doing well. I mix fertilizer and I can see new leaves coming out. Great soil without the hassle of doing it yourself. Also you don't need to have a bunch of extra soil from the components to store away. Worth the money.

Perfect
I left a three star review on the all purpose only because the grain formula had changed although the product itself is fantastic. I also ordered this mix at the same time, but it came later and this is exactly what I was looking for. A nice fine mix for my aroids so I’m super excited. Ordering more today to repot all the babies..now I know which one to buy.

Just What I Needed
This soil was exactly what I was looking for. I'm new to growing bonsai. I used succulent soil to start the seeds and the Delonix Regias are growing so fast I already transferred to a tray using this soil and added about 1/4 peat moss. The leaves already look better after one day.
