New Design Does Make Professional Expresso
I have been using my wife's grandparent's expresso maker and others. The coffee is good, but the design has stayed the same for 100 years. I wanted a four-cup expresso maker that makes the foamy, thick expresso coffees I can get in the shops. The Brikka does a Bialetti has a version that works well on an induction stove. The bottom water container and the coffee cup are much larger for the resulting amount it makes. The design makes the pressure higher and the coffee more intense. It has a large hole in the lid because you have to keep the temperature low and watch. It can quickly boil over. The results are worth it. Unlike other expresso pots, you can put less water and coffee to make smaller but tasty amounts. There is a measuring cup for the water. It would be nice to have lines in the pot to measure the water directly.

Great coffee, good for daily use and travel.
Works well on my induction stove. It can be difficult to unscrew after use. Makes great coffee. I use this almost daily and always bring this mokka pot when I travel.

Valve is defective
The valve failed on this one. Emits steam as soon as it heats up. Failed just after 4 or 5 uses. Made nice coffee when it was working. Update - Chefs Arsenal seller sent me a new one. Thank you to this seller.

BEWARE THE LEARNING CURVE
Been using a regular Moka for some time and was not really prepared to tackle the learning curve when switching to a Brickka. Fear not, however, since it isn't all that difficult. It does brew in a somewhat different way than the Moka, so the whole thing is a different sight and sound to attend. Just got it last night, of course, so I'm still in the learning curve. I will try to remember to add more later, after I've has some time to adjust.

Attractive and Effective
We have an AGA but with this pool;onged heat and the high energy prices we had to turn it off for the summer. We love having our Espressos after our evening meal but our existing Bialettis ( we have 3 !) are the traditional type and don't work on an induction hob. So we bought this one. My tips are: Don't worry about the "open top", it is meant to be like that; DO use the small measuring pot for the water - if you put too much in the flavour is not as good, and it can overflow; I have found the on the induction plate 400 W is about right. (You can give a little time at 500W and once it is bubbling through you can reduce from 400W to 300W). Watch it, and be careful. The Flavour is fabulous - arguably better than the traditional Bialetti done on the stove top of the AGA).

Does the job
First time brew, got really excited when the coffee started coming out. Was a bit worried because somehow the bottom pot where you store water won't lock with the top completely. But then, it's ok. Just remember to switch off the stove the moment you see coffee pouring in, before the sputtering sound ofcourse. Good upgrade from drip coffee maker.
