I thought I did everything right, I was trying to clean my swamp. Well after a week of netting my beautiful bug, One lone frog, algae filled sludge pit I thought that it was time to pump the bottom to waste.....Ohhh was I wrong. I must have been just churning my backyard soup pit for a week straight for brewing goodness. Well...my pipes got clogged with leaves, algae, dirt and I am pretty certain demons from another realm that seeped out from this unholy disaster. Then after much research, an exorcist and a month long soul searching retreat, I stumbled upon this, from what I can only describe as "saviour", as if by the divine intervention. I am pretty sure it was blessed with holy water and enchanted prior to being bestowed upon me. It took all of 2 minutes to expel the evils that possessed the plumbing. Now I no longer have a green gurgling toxic waste dump, its a pretty clear pool with swimmable sanitized water that can function.

I am not in the habit of leaving reviews, I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon and rarely say anything. I feel compelled to write one for this product. Every possible annoying expense has hit me in the past month, hasn't been a good year so far; rain/pour- I take a shower and shave on Wednesday, go down stairs and there is green water in my kitchen sink and dishwasher and the house smells like sewage. Not exactly sure what has happened, I check a couple of things, think about it for a while, recollect that my kitchen sink has been sluggish, and figure I'll leave it and maybe it was just some weird combination of rain (it's been raining for days) and everything else. Plus I just don't want to think about it. Come back later, it's all gone, I keep moving on. Later that day, while using the kitchen sink, it starts backing up. So I stop what I'm doing. I go upstairs, try out the bathroom sink and shower, and once again, the sink fills up. Great. Anyway, this slow drain, fill back up, slow drain continues for a day. Finally I give up hope and realize I'm going to have to do something, I try plunging to no avail, I try chemicals, no luck. I let it drain over night. Next day take the sink apart, check the p trap, it's clear. I go borrow a 25' hand snake. I feed it in, struggle with all the elbows between me and the clog, finally get there (18' approximately), fiddle with it, pull out some hair and gunk, but the end result is me pushing the clog to another elbow (I guess) where I can't get the snake to continue. Great. I tried snaking from the upstairs, no luck. Just making things worse, where as before it would drain slowly, now it doesn't drain at all, complete blockage. Also, during this mess, I broke the snake. So I get on amazon to buy a new snake for my friend and I start searching around. Not feeling real good about my chances of resolving this without a $200+ plumbing bill, then I see this beauty... Read the reviews, it was only $10, decided to try it. Awesome product. Despite being very nervous about the prospect of sewage water and chemicals firing out of every drain in my house, I put it in the kitchen sink downspout, and slowly turned it on. Ran back inside, weird noises, a little scary, but no geysers anywhere. Ran outside, cranked the hose all the way on, ran back in, still anxious about water and chemicals everywhere, still just noise, ran upstairs, sinks ok, showers ok, tub ok. Went back down, read the instructions again. Still just noise. I let it run for a while (5 minutes?) go outside, disconnect the hose at the spigot, then back in to see what's what. Pull it out of the drain. No water that I can feel in the pipe, good sign. Hook the pipes up, let the sink run for a couple of minutes and...no more clog! This thing is awesome. There is no way I was going to get at this clog with a snake and chemicals (lots of chemicals!) were not working. The instructions say not to use with chemicals, which I'm sure is for safety and probably for the good of the attachment, but I went ahead anyway and just made sure the dogs were outside and my face didn't get anywhere close to where blow-back might happen. Anyway, for any clogs in the future, after plunging, this god send will be my next option. Even if I had to buy a new one for every job, I'd do it, it's not much more expensive than chemicals but more effective. I will recommend this to anyone and everyone, if you've got a difficult clog, and you don't want to hire a plumber, your snake-ing skills are sub par, and you aren't particularly patient, the Drain King is for you! Also, major thanks to the amazon community for consistent reviewers, I should do it more often, but I never would have bought this had I not read so many positive reviews. And they were all correct. Great job Amazonians!

This funny looking device is a priceless help to anyone needing to clear an Air Conditioner Drain. You didn't know your Air Conditioner even HAD a drain? Good for you. I just learned that they DO, after carpet in our hallway got wet. Wet carpet? From what? Tracing the puddle back to its source, I got a quick education on something your A/C Technician already knows about. Somewhere, under the whole house air conditioner unit (you'll probably find this behemoth in a utility closet in your hallway), there is something called a "drain pan." This drain pan catches the moisture that evaporates out of the cooling mechanism for an air conditioner, called an Evaporator Coil. Condensed moisture drains off this evaporator coil and into the drain pan, which actually has plumbing attached to drain the excess water collected into it and out of your house. UNTIL IT BACKS UP. Then, you get a puddle on the floor, like I did. THIS IS HOW YOU FIX THAT PROBLEM. Your A/C drain can get plugged up with either 1. Algae or 2. Calcification/Mineralization or 3. Both. You can knock out the algae by pouring a little bleachwater into your drain. I've since learned most A/C people recommend you treat your drain this way about every 6 months. That's what they charge you to do, when they "flush your system." If you have more minerals than algae, you need to use a little CLR Jelmar CL-4 CLR 128-oz. Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover to dissolve the minerals in the PVC drain, then rinse with water. It's best to then fully clear the drain with a device like this. The way we fixed ours was: a little bleachwater (which didn't clear the blockage), added a bit at a time till the drain worked a bit (this is added directly into the PVC drain, NOT into the A/C's drain pan). Realizing that algae wasn't the root cause of our drain blockage, we waited for the bleach to clear, rinsed the drain slowly, then added 1/4 cup of CLR, which opened the drain further. Once it was draining a bit, we bought this, added a bit of CLR again, waited 10 minutes, then inserted this little device fully into the PVC pipe (after screwing a water hose onto the end), then turned on the water to finish "cleaning" the drain. (Just a note: in our case, the PVC drain has TWO inlets/access points. We blocked the lower one's 90 degree coupling (which feeds back into the A/C unit drain pan) with a stuffed rag temporarily during this procedure, just to prevent any possible backflushing--look at your own setup & you'll see what I mean. Alternatively, you could use this device in that drain inlet, as well, as long as it's long enough to totally block that 90 degree coupling; I'd still advise using a rag or PVC plug to temporarily plug the other inlet, just as backflushing insurance). It worked like a champ; the water flowing out of the hose works to "swell" the rubbery part of this device; while allowing water to flow through it, it doesn't allow any water to 'back up" through the drain. This increased water pressure helps "blow out" any remaining debris plugging the drain. Problem solved! It works great, is easy to use, and does the job with ease. MUCH better and more efficient than just trying to block a water hose with a rag or other leaky, messy solution. This was a quick & easy fix for our A/C drain; highly recommended for quality, utility & value! FYI UPDATE 8-27-15: Just a reminder: two other possible causes of A/C leaks are 1. Dirty Filter 2. Clog in drainpan. A dirty filter is fixed by changing it (see Owner's Manual for your AC). Clogs in drainpans can be prevented by using acid tablets in the drain pan, usually done by an AC technician. DIY options for these are available at Amazon and searches at Google and YouTube can teach you how!

I wish I brought this sooner, and also wish I checked the plumbing setup in the crawl space before using it. Easy to use, just put on end of a hose and put into a drain. Make sure you buy the right size for your drain pipe. We had a clog in kitchen sink drain that was slow and then stopped all together. Tried plunging, small snake, chemicals. Nothing worked. Tried this and it cleared the clog finally!! But be careful and check your plumbing lines before using! This pushed the clog towards the main drain line, however there was another sink that had a drain pipe merging before the main drain. This pushed the clog past the other sink drain line, then the path of least resistance is nasty fluid coming back up the other sink drain pipe. Needed to plug that second sink while running the drain king at the main clogged sink. Now our kitchen sink drains faster than ever, but could have saved a lot of cleanup by checking the plumbing setup first. So yes, this works great, even with our crappy well water low pressure.
