Unexpected Performance... Buy this if you own a MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Apple anything!
I ordered this a while ago but finally got around to using it after I started using Amazon Music's HD streaming through their app. On my 2017 MacBook Pro, the audio output level to external devices such as my AKG K371 headphones has been just okay. After plugging in this easy to use device and giving it a go, I am floored at the amazing sound quality and audio reproduction. It is levels above what comes stock on my MacBook Pro, and I recommend you get it if you're a audiophile! Listening to Fred Again - Marea (We've Lost Dancing) and the highs and lows are faithfully reproduced in its marvelous pro level sound quality! I did a little test to confirm I'm not hearing things so I switched back to my internal output on the MacBook Pro. The comparison is so striking and this product provides the best value for money on the market. I feel like I'm hooked in to an expensive external audio controller! So happy right now....HAPPY!!!

Works for Amateur Radio
Using this to directly patch the audio output from my Yaesu HF amateur radios into a Galaxy S20 for CW decoding. An inexpensive option, and works perfectly with no software configuration needed.

Works great
Anyone that has a recent MacBook "Pro" will know that it is poorly supported with I/O connections. I'm gonna say it: USB-C sucks. But I'm committed now so away to Amazon for another 'dongle', just to get some standard functionality back to my 'high-end' purchase. This little box does what I needed it to do, without any hassle. Plugged it in, connected a Sound Board output and was recording audio into Audacity in no time. Straightforward and works as expected.

Small, economical, works. No bell & whistles, just an in and out through USB-C
This is one of those accessories you should have on hand even if you're not using it right now. I bought this for my 2025 MacBook Air M4 which has only 2 USB-C/Thunderbolt ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack which is ONLY for headphones, not a microphone. Now, the internal mic on the MacBook actually does a pretty good job overall, but if you want to do a nice, more isolated voice over with a conventional mic (headset, dynamic, podcasting) this will save the day. It's recognized by the Mac as an external device having a Mic input and Headphone or Speaker/Monitor output. You can use a TRRS plug headphone/mic combo or separates. I was using a headworn mic for some voiceover work in my video editor and also an EV RE20 (with an adaptor). So sure, it's a low cast adaptor, and some have noticed issues, but I haven't on mine. I do wish it had a detachable cable and maybe an input level, but that's asking a lot at this price. It's not the size nor cost of my UAD interface and I can slip this into my pocket. Can't complain!

Harley work around for cell phone.
This splitter/adapter is good for intended use. Appears to be well made. I'm going to be using it on my motorcycle. Update. I've had a chance to try it out. It works great. (Full face helmet and rigged one for my half helmet headset also) I'm using this as a work around for my 2011 Harley Ultra Limited. I did not want to buy the Roadtech GPS to interface with my phone and corded headset, but still needed to be able to take an emergency call. As a general rule, I do not recommend riding a motorcycle and talking on the phone. I bought this splitter, a USB C (my phone requires this setup, your phone may use different style) to headset and microphone splitter. Run a jumper 3.5mm trs cable from splitter adapter "headset" into aux port AND run a 3.5mm trrs from splitter adapter "mic" to the mic mounted in your helmet. I ran the mic cord through the loops of the corded headset. Note: This ONLY works from the aux position on the Harmon Kardon.

Does Not work for my Motorola Z2 Force...
I ordered this product yesterday, hoping to use it's USB-C connection for my Lavalier mic to make simple videos with better sound quality. It arrived today, in great time. According to the description, this should have worked for my phone. (Motorola Z2 Force - which does not have a 3.5in headphone jack. The Adapter Does Not Work. I tried the Mic port on the adapter, first, of course. I recorded a 10 sec video and spoke into the mic. (I use the same mic every Sunday, so I know it wasn't the mic). I disconnected the adapter from my phone and replayed the video with volume at 100%. The only sound was ambient audio recorded through my phone's internal mic. So I tried the headphone hack on the adapter, just in case there was a mis-labeling. But that didn't help either. Same result. The construction was solid, looked great. Packaging was fine. But the product just doesn't work - at least, not with my phone. I was hopeful, but... oh well. Sending it back asap.

Output bleeds into input
Cool! Big problem- the output bleeds into the input. For example: trying to record an electric guitar track (line in) into garageband with metronome eneabled in the monitor (line out). i can hear the metronome in the recorded track

Allows analog monaural audio input into MacBook
I had some old tape recordings that I needed to digitize. Mac's got no 3.5 mm analog audio input. :-( This device did the trick. The input appears to be restricted to monaural (single track to both stereo channels), but for speech that's fine. For music, this may not be ideal. The restriction might be due to my laptop (a 2015 MacBookPro) rather than the device, so YMMV. One note: This works fine as a stereo digital to analog output, so you can use your stereo wired headphones with your phone (assuming no 3.5 mm jack).
