The reason I say I 'got lucky' is b/c Kingston is a good brand plus everywhere I looked ,all the other external SSDs used USB-C connection w/o a USB-A adapter. I think most of the USB-C to USB-A adapters cost $15 and up. Which isn't that big of a deal if you're just gonna store pictures , music , movies, etc on it , but I mainly use it for installing and running video-games off it. Thing is , once you buy an external USB-C SSD , and use a USB-A adapter ,the data transfer speeds drops dramatically ( for a gamer that's a deal breaker ) but since this one already connects directly to a USB-A port ,it's a pretty darn fast external SSD. I've installed a few games on it since purchasing it and they run smooth & fast. Pretty amazing for an SSD that isn't internally connected to you motherboard. Not sure if they're still available ,but if they are ,even if you're just a casual gamer , it's a great purchase.
