Beautiful addition to my garden
I thought about buying this for a long time, probably for about a year, but was put off by the price! I have thought of every way to try and get an above ground pond for less money, but nothing was going to work or look half as good as this. So eventually I bit the bullet and ordered this little beauty. I'm not even sorry for the money I spent now it's up! It's just so beautiful and exactly what I wanted and how I imagined it. It was delivered the next day in a surprisingly small but very heavy box and I took to building it straight away. I'm a woman in my 40s and it took me just over 2 hours to build - but I did have to ask my son for help at one point. So... Building it is not exactly difficult at all, the instructions that come with it aren't the clearest, but I had already watched some videos on YouTube in anticipation. Those really help and I recommend watching a couple of assemblies to familiarise yourself. I love a bit of DIY and so I wasn't put off by a bit of a challenge - but my goodness, putting those bottom cross brace bars in needed a lot more muscle than I have on my own! It was by far the most difficult part and I couldn't have done it without my son helping. The rest of the assembly was simply child's play, only sliding the panels in was slightly fiddly, but still didn't slow me down. Preparing and setting up the pump/filter was also fine, as was attaching it to the waterfall. Which is where I come to the one minor design fault! If I was on the design team for these ponds, I would definitely not put the waterfall up as high. Give it a different shape, maybe, but not up that high. There is nothing relaxing about the sound of water bladdering down at the speed it comes out of there. You can turn down the flow, but it still is very loud even turned down as small as it can go before it stops flowing. This is the only downside to this I can find, really. I'm not too sure what I'm going to do about it yet, the noise might get quite irritating after a while. Apart from this I am very pleased with my splurge, I can't wait for it to settle in so I can put a few fishies in there.

Lovely Little Patio Pond
Really pleased with this water feature. It was fairly easy to put together (better with two people) and looks great in the garden. The window panels are a nice touch to watch the fish 🐟 swim past and the fountain adds a relaxing sound. The pump and filter work well, also UV clarifier. It’s perfect for a few small fish and plants. Lovely little LED light which makes the pond come to life. The instructions aren’t very clear and we had to turn to YouTube to see how people did some parts. Overall, a great addition for a bit of calm and character on the patio!

Blagdon pond large
Very good item just one issue the print on the instructions are very small and not very clear I did it but not very clear at all jumps from one thing to another but looks great plenty of spare cable from the pump etc. Would recommend.

Easy, looks good, sturdy
Really loving this pond. I wanted to get it set up and give it a few weeks to settle before introducing the fish.. and even though they're not in it yet, I love the gentle trickle and just being able to see the plants through the windows, especially when the sun shines down and makes them dance with the rays from the ripples! It wasn't the easiest to put together on my own, but got it done in a couple of hours (with waiting for the panels to warm in the sunshine).. but DO put the fleece down first.. you assemble it upside-down! The liner doesn't sit straight down the walls, so I can't put the plants that sit on the bottom into the corner and have had to put in a couple of bricks just to keep them in place and stop them sliding further into the middle. I've used S-hooks to hold the marginals pots, hooked into the pre-drilled holes, rather than buying extra clip-in blagdon holders. It's taken a couple of weeks for the water to become properly sparkling clear, without addition of anything. My water came from water butts, and was pretty murky to start. Can't wait to get the fish in and see them swimming about.

The quality and sturdiness of the pond.
The Blagdon Affinity Grand Octagon at first seems quite daunting to put together when you open the large box it comes in and look at the instruction's. My advice would be don’t try to follow them but go to YouTube and follow the video tutorial step by step, which of course makes it look easier to put together than it is. And it was quite easy, except you always get that one screw that won’t go in, which are plastic and require a Philips screwdriver and force to get in. I found my biggest problem was hooking the pond liner onto the frame, but I got there in the end. You will also require two 3pin plugs for the supplied filter pump and transformer, which again is easy to set up by following video tutorials. I’m really impressed with the pond, which is sturdy and looks really good, it also comes with two large planting pouches, and I bought another two, to plant up the four sides without portholes and now can’t wait to plant them up.

Extremely happy
330 litres one Very good quality pond and very easy to build. I read few reviews and people were saying it kind difficult to build and the manual wasn’t easy to understand and some people said the watch videos on youtube. But I think it wasvery easy to build. Took me 30 minutes to build the frame What took more was the put the cables all together, once we all know that we can’t messy up it electricity!! But was very easy and simple. Very happy with everything and fish seems be very happy and healthy! The only “issue “ my opinion is the light on the filter as you going to have a look at the fish during the night and the light is right in your eyes but overall great quality!! Can’t wait to get the bigger one !!

Poor assembly instructions & damaged parts - no support either.
This is an honest review. I'm technically minded and have a pond already. I've kept fish for years and aquariums so assembly of a pond and filter etc should be easy. First to note - the instructions for everything are utterly terrible. The small diagrams are confusing and the text is really small and verging on illegible. The pump/filter (3000 in this case) went together easily enough. The problem is that the instructions are all over the place and hard to follow. They aren't really fit for purpose and seemed to focus on the other higher pump model more than the 3000 model. There is no step by step assembly instructions with parts needed. Just random images, an exploded diagram and nothing in sensible order. The pond itself - well, the instructions for this are another manual and are the WORST I've ever followed. They really are a mess, and although the steps are numbered with diagrams, the diagrams seem to be in no proper order and don't flow properly. The instructions are vague, and no real indication of how the parts should be locked together. Sitting and fiddling about seems the order of the day and this is how I eventually began assembly. Once assembly began the parts were labelled and this was good - however slotting them together the tolerances were poor and the edge pieces didn't always want to go into the corners. The paint on the pieces themselves was poor. Some scratches. Bubbling on edges was also present where the paint had run in production. Not all were like this but enough to make me wonder about quality. The final straw was upon coming to assemble the front of the pond and finding 2 of the rails jammed together inside each other long ways. Packed this way from the factory. Pulling them apart I found 1 x 7 inch fine scratch and the other rail had a dent. Trying to get a replacement Amazon wouldn't process it and a refund was the only option. I tried Blagdon support - there is NO phone number in the literature. Clicking Get Support on Amazon points you to the Blagdon website and you get nowhere - going round in circles. Going on the Blagdon website gives no tel numbers to contact them - just like their product manual. There is a link to contact Azpack ltd for pond spares. I Googled them to see if they carried more than pump spares as I need rails - they have a website, infected with malware when I went there which tells you you've "Won" when you click a few of the links. Nevertheless I persevered and found a link for spares for the Affinity, listing the different models - the Grand Corner I had purchased isn't listed, and on clicking one of the other models and looking at spares available, rails weren't listed anyway! So I've wasted hours. I can't get a replacement. I can't find a tel number to contact support. The spares website has malware. There IS a contact us form on the Blagdon website but its labelled media/pr? I want to speak to someone as these are large parts, not submit a support request for response in a few days time. This thing is part assembled all over my lounge. I've now given up. Packed it all back up after disassembly and I'm returning it. Blagden have poor non existent support. The product instructions are poor and if it were me I'd be ashamed of publishing such literature with my products. If you found this review useful, please click below - and think seriously before buying this pond - especially the Affinity Grand Corner which i had.

Beautiful pond, but boy!! What a pickle to put together 🤯
Firstly I’d like to say that this pond is absolutely amazing, since having it I’ve lost hours just sitting down watching the fish swim past the windows.. it’s soooo tranquil and relaxing I couldn’t recommend it more.. But boy as the reviews said it was a right pickle ( my polite word!!) to put together, the instructions were useless so YouTube helped us a little more, but honestly book out a good long afternoon to do it.. I filled the pond up, put all the right chemicals in it ( pond safe and bought some bacteria from my local garden centre) and left it a week before getting any fish, I bought 3 to begin with and added 1 more a week later and will probably get a couple more, as a man in the garden centre advised about only having 6 to keep it looking nice and low maintenance, but even with 4 they’re constantly at the windows which is lovely.. if you’re undecided about getting one, I’d say this is definitely a fab one, it was a great price and will be a great addition to any garden.. 🐟🐠🐡
