Beautiful photos!
I am extremely pleased with this adorable lens! It will properly fit any Sony E mount with no issues. Given the low apeture it performs beautifully under low light conditions with almost not image noise, even when filming, not to mention the beautiful background blur it produces is very unique...I like it, a lot! It is light weight and very well built. I have one little con, and that's the fact it doesn't have a manual/auto focus switch. Not a deal breaker, just a small pain. Obviously the price is awesome and VERY affordable. Well done Viltrox! 👏👏👏

Excellent choice. Happy to recommend.
I couldn't be happier with this lens. I'm using it in a dedicated setup on a streaming camera (Sony A6400), with a teleprompter, and the lens is performing flawlessly. The image is clear and focus is quick, colors render very realistically, the front of the lens doesn't move when focus changes, so it works perfectly with the teleprompter, and vignetting is a non-issue. Don't hesitate to buy this lens. The price/value/performance ratio is excellent.

Best 20mm Lens to Practice With
For $200 this lens is; 1. Light, very casual to have on your camera 2. Not insanely sharp but better than you’d expect 3. The 2.8 aperture helps for low light conditions Cons: 1 where it falls short is its auto focus, which imo isn’t insanely great 2 corners come out soft so when taking group photos considering framing subject more in the mid frame or center, close up focus gives nice bokeh but far wide shots come out flatter 3. This lens does have distortion that can be fixed in post with profiles to add more light and give images less of a fisheye effect but something to consider you’ll probably be doing if frequently using this lens Overall for this price point, all the hassle is bare able. Spent a month using this lens and it was a great learning experience, glad there’s affordable lens like this to help give people the chance to learn more hands on

Perfect Everyday Wide Lens
It's 20mm with very little distortion, surprisingly sharp across the whole image, and has great and quiet autofocus, (after a firmware update.) Flaring is controlled and I haven't even had to think about it most of the time when shooting. (I haven't needed the lens hood.) It's also very small and light, meaning it's easy to use for selfies and vlogs without arm fatigue. It's small and versatile enough that I just leave it on my camera and toss it in my bag. Another nice bonus is the close minimum focusing distance, allowing for a wide pseudo-macro feeling with nice background blur on full-frame. As for any cons: The aperture must be adjusted in-camera. In manual focus mode, the focus ring has no hard stop and can turn endlessly, and so has no markings, requiring you to look at your screen or viewfinder anytime you think you might've bumped the focus ring. All in all, it would be a solid value for this 20mm at $500, and still better than most in that range... but it's under $200, the price of a budget APS-C lens. Everything else I want to say just feels like hyperbole, but I think my feelings should be pretty clear by this point. Edit: Autofocus still gives me trouble here and there. Extreme changes in focus can be kind of loud and not as quick as other times.

Beyond excellent for price point - NOT perfect, but who expected it to be?
It’s a superb lens for the price. Less than $200??? Crazy. It’s not perfect. AF is a bit wonky. But it’s super lightweight and has great picture quality. I bought this lens mostly for video and landscape photos and general all rounder since it’s so light. I have a SONY 24-70 GM lens that I use as my main - heavy and bulky but great quality, and this 20mm is perfect addition.

Sharpness, portability and excellent value for money.
You won’t regret getting this lens, especially at this price point. The sharpness is excellent, and the autofocus is quite accurate — neither too fast nor sluggish. I mainly use it for video on a Sony A7IV, and honestly, I couldn’t ask for more. On top of that, its compact design and lightweight build make it really comfortable to use for long sessions and easy to carry around. Whether you're just starting out or already have experience, I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Great Lens, Outstanding Value
I was looking for a wide angle prime for travel, and the Viltrox 20/2.8 came up in my search. Online reviews are generally positive, and the price is excellent so I decided to make the purchase. Initial impressions are fantastic! Build quality seems reasonable and AF performance in my initial testing has been great, but I haven't been able to put it through challenging low-light situations yet. Image quality seems to be very nice, but again that's based on limited testing thus far. Based on third-party reviews I'm not expecting Zeiss or Voigtlander-like color, or perfect edge-to-edge sharpness but in many ways I LOVE a lens with character and this meets those requirements. The fact that this lens is so affordable is the proverbial "icing on the cake", and if I can get reasonably good images from it in the future it will have more than met every expectation I would have for a lens at 2x-3x the price.

Day1 - Amazing little piece of glass. It’s tiny so I don’t have to worry about weight when shooting or travelling and the f2.8 paired with the Sony’s great low light performance is an unmatched combo. 25 May "25 - I've used the lense for a better part of 16 Days and while its a good price, the autofucus is a diva. I've had many times where it will stay on AF-C but reviewing footage, its just constantly focus hunting and I've missed many key moments at events because of this. I love the lense, but its not what I thought it would be.

I bought this Viltrox 20mm f/1.8 lens, mainly for landscape purposes. I refuse to pay what Sony was asking for a comparable lens...this Viltrox lens costs less than half of what Sony charges. I can tell you the quality is amazing for the price. This lens is well built and sharp. Furthermore, It is worth mentioning how lightweight it is! Perfect for my hikes and travels... I will update this post if something comes up. But overall this lens will be part of my backpack for next seasons.
